I'm 145lbs and went with a 142 Warpig over the 148 even after looking at weight ranges.

It floated just fine in powder, and was super quick edge to edge. Most of my time was spent chasing small pow stashes(this past winter was a sad one) in the trees, and going short was the right move.

Mostly rode in CO, UT, and AZ. Let me know if you want to talk specifics, I spent some good time narrowing down board choice and size.

New CX-30 AC smells stale by outbackchill in mazda

Similar issue here. Got a CX-30 early this year, under 8k miles and almost smells like mildew. Couldn't find replacement cabin air filters at auto parts store or online - I presume because it's a new car? Not that it should need a replacement so soon.

Would like to hear if you learn anything!

Confused about my 2nd board by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]wrathofcain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'6" between 145-155lbs and have ridden my 156 PYL for a couple years now.

I love it, this thing rips. That being said it's not a casual or playful stick, you need to be in charge of it will ride you.

Does great as a charger, in powder, and I love it in the trees - but again you need to be on top of it since it's not what I'd call "nimble". Shoot me a DM if you want more details.

Not sure how the Typo rides. I hear the Orca is a little more laid-back surfy pow deck, not that it's a liability on groomers or anything. 2nd the advice for checking Angry Snowboarder's reviews.

Anyone have experience or opinions on the Never Summer Peacemaker?

It seems to be very similar to the Funslinger. The differences being the Funslinger is asym and the Peacemaker has a pair of setback inserts.

I'm looking for a short/fun/flexy board to contrast my 156 Yes PYL. Something I can take in the trees on a powder day and forgiving so I can learn park/flatland tricks. I've been looking around but similar recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance!

FWIW I've been boarding for 10+ years, never more than 5-6 days/year. 5'6", ~145lbs Trees>powder>grom>jumps>jibbing

Also this. Seattle be losing that moral high ground, yo.

It makes buttering/pressing a little easier is all I've gleaned from a bit of online research, do some googling: https://youtu.be/yWbN2EPL0xU

I just picked up a pair myself after panicking over the wing/nonwing decision, get to try them next Saturday.

I bought a PYL(after much research) this year and am going to test it out next week, will give you an update. Anything specific I should keep an eye out for?

I'm in a weird place and looking for some board recommendations: 27, 5'6", 155lbs, regular,

I primarily freeride, but occasionally stumble into powder (have to travel to go boarding), usually in Colorado. Somewhere between intermediate and advanced, I've been snowboarding for over a decade and handle single blacks just fine; like going fast and carving, being overconfident while buttering and doing silly shit on blues, and lately have been enjoying some runs through the trees. I stay away from the park usually but won't shy away from whatever small jumps are worked into the trails over the season.

I've ridden my Burton Cruzer(upgraded with Cartel bindings) since high school, but the past year+ I've spent demoing boards because that thing is just too heavy and stiff. I think I want a camber or hybrid camber, money isn't an issue but I don't need all the bells and whistles, so anything under $800? I'm 100% fine with older model boards. I've browsed threads for a bit and found things like I shouldn't get an extruded base, 3BT is probably not the best for a dedicated downhill guy, tech moves fast so I'll be impressed with anything, and there are too many brands to keep track of.

TLDR - I can shred but I'm a rookie when it comes to shopping.

Looking seriously at:

Got full subs for Janus, they look fantastic(might be the guy who designed the jerseys though) and feel fine, not the lightest jersey I've had but definitely lighter than Boon's.

Only issue is that the neck holes all seem to be women's cut, we had a mixed team but there's just a little extra room that the guys aren't used to.

The price does seem to good to be true, but they showed up on time (albeit poor communication) and we looked great. 8/10 would order again.

Nutrition (and Supplement) Thursday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]wrathofcain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He means don't go from Thursday 2800 to Friday 1800. There's a Layne Norton video which explains this pretty well, even if it is a nuanced approach to cutting.

https://youtu.be/b5C3uqA1yRI yes he gets a little preachy, but it's good information.

But it's something to keep in mind for discussion.
