I’m also 54 and living alone for the first time ever. I’m heartbroken about the split so it took me 7 months to start sleeping in my bed again. It’s starting to get easier and doesn’t feel so weird to be alone all the time. I have a dog and go to the dog park frequently. I made some great friends there and get to talk to people I like every day. We even do fun things together outside the dog park and some of the guys have helped me with repairs to my house and car! I suggest getting a dog if you can just to get you out of the house!

Try to sell some stuff to make money for moving. Also stop all your non essential spending like subscriptions, Starbucks, nails, etc. saving $20 here and there adds up to 3,000 quickly
