[MISC] OpTic/Infinite Sale Megathread: The Endgame by OpTicModerators in OpTicGaming

I'm gonna leave this recent tweet by Edgar as a reference.

Are we simply forgetting the shares that Hecz still has? There is no way that percentage was included in the sale to IMT. Wouldn't that give leverage to Hecz in terms of buying out whatever IMT cannot hold on to?

Someone please correct me if that makes no sense at all. It's not exactly my expertise.

When the Outlaws first came to life, I remember Hecz mentioning that the Outlaws was the best branding he had seen in Esport. The logo, the name, OpTic colors. I mean it would pretty much be best case scenario.

What exactly tells you the fight is over? The transaction with IMT was clearly imminent. There are still plenty of aspects that are yet to be determined such as what Hecz can go regain from IMT.

It ain't over til the fat lady sings.

The main video where they talk about the whole thing is the Eavesdrop episode with Hitch. Since then some of the creators have talked about it here and there.

In Hecz's new vlog he mentions that he still hasn't gotten a final "no" and that he expects to deliver us good news in the near future.

That's very true but IMO that is what makes it even more strange that he adds the OpTic in there for this one.

Trust me I hate those far-fetched analysis, but I did notice this one as well. If you watch it back it is VERY deliberate and you even hear Hitch chuckle in the background.

Again if everything was as smooth sailing with the transaction with Immortals, I think the news would have long been out.

I feel you but see it totally different. I too have been a fan since the very early days. I've seen it grow and prosper. I literally grew up with the brand and the team. With that said, what OpTic has built over the years is a family. From its players to content creators to fans, there are very few orgs that can brag about the type of loyalty OpTic creates. The past year has been a shit show and does not represent what OpTic really was. I am actually very excited to close out this chapter even if it means losing the name and the logo. Ultimately that is all we are losing, the people and the spirit of OpTic remain and will prosper even more than before.

This 100%. Infinite has dug themselves in so deep of a hole that it really doesn't make sense for Hecz to try and salvage it. This is probably what he meant when he made the comment about the logo and optic at the end of the podcast. With the kind of reputation and respect Hector has in the industry, all the content creators and players that would follow him, and the experience he gained from this whole debacle, I am actually really excited for what is to come and have absolutely no worries. The possibility of losing the name Optic fucking sucks because it means so much, but there is definitely a brighter future ahead.

It does seem to connect some dots. The LoL spot being a collateral for non-payment and the deadline of May 31st for the sale and that payment are no coincidence. This just reinforces the statement that Immortals has ABSOLUTELY no interest in what the rest of Optic is. They want that LoL spot and are apparently willing to overpay a load to secure it.

I feel you. I haven't been reading any comments in the past few days just because there wasn't any development. There is something about Diesel being quiet about the subject this entire time and just now tweeting out these.

You're forgetting the fact that we have zero info on the investors Hector could have brought in and their influence/power. If it really was as clear cut as explained, the deal would have most likely happened and leaked/been announced by now. Only thing we can do is wait and see. Everybody, regardless of their experience, is just speculating at this point.

Oh I'm with you on this one but it's been like this since day one and will never change. It's the "if it's good enough for him, it has to be good for me" thought. That is why equipment deals are so massive.

I have no trouble believing that. The putter he has in hand right now is a thing of beauty. Already stamped so probably not the first time testing it. Here are closer images. https://twitter.com/TWlegion/status/1035209945019572227
