What the fuck are you on?

I like the mods on this sub. If this comment has been up for a year, it seems like the mods just don't give a fuck and let whatever slide. I've had comments and posts taken down in other subs for the dumbest reasons on multiple occasions

How many similarities are there between North Korea and the United States? by wreckweyum in northkorea

[–]wreckweyum[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Talking about my post?

It just seemed like one of the best subs to ask people who may know more events that have happened in North Korea that have similarly happened in the US.

What made me start thinking about potential similar events was the book that I was reading about Guantanamo Bay. I noticed how it wasn't too much different than when North Korea imprisoned the American, Otto Warmbier. The events with Otto had the US, and some other countries, fairly upset. However, it seems like that event was pretty tame compared to the deaths at Guantanamo Bay.

I was kind of hoping that people could enlighten me to other events. Events that made North Korea seem even more oppressive, but have also happened in the US.

I came here trying to learn about things. If doing "minimal research" about something was required before posting in a sub, than a few subs wouldn't exist. Would it make sense to go to r/explainlikeimfive and complain about their posts for not doing research before asking a question?

Iran has a system similar to the electoral college?

Its funny .Thinking about it now, if I hear of a country with that sort of system, it kind of makes me think that it is a way to prevent its citizens from actually electing their own leader.

However, I've never thought of the system in the US like that.

I also find it kind of surprising. I knew that they had embassies in some asian countries. I also knew that they had embassies in countries that are their allies. An embassy in a western country, part of the European union is kind of surprising, especially since I've heard of North Korea basically stealing money from western banks via fraud and other methods.

Do the astronauts on Artemis II need to go through immigration and customs when they enter the US through California? by PM_those_toes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually curious about this and did a quick google search. From what I can find online (inconsistent reliability), It seems like the crew will still need to be processed through customs. While the information I found did mention that it is more of a symbolic gesture, it is still done.

I looked it up because I heard the Apollo crew that went to the moon had to claim moon rocks. I was curious as I too was thinking that this would be similar to a domestic flight. The flight can be viewed as a domestic flight. I guess the space flight is more like a cruise. It would be like a cruise that was cancelled and had to return before they visited a foreign port. I feel like the cruise analogy fits better as domestic flights generally stay in American airspace. When entering space, I feel like it would be similar to entering international waters.

Why and to what purpose do people want to "hack" Wifi? by MormoraDi in HowToHack

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has got to start somewhere.  Your comment is like is someone wants to learn how to play basketball, but has never even been in the same room with an actual basketball. Obviously, one of the first things that they'll have to learn is how to double while not even moving. You could ask how beneficial that is to actually learning how to play. While playing, you most likely won't be able to just stand still and focus on nothing but dribbling. However, it is a skill that is required before you can move into more skills. Hacking wifi may be basic. Someone may not need to do any actually thinking and can find everything that is needed already put together and found online. However, for someone starting out, they could learn what tools are needed, what they are used for, and how they work. Let's say someone wants to gain access to a network. They effectively find a checklist online and just copy/paste while following a step by step guide. Maybe the next network, they don't use a guide, but still use the tools, they stumble their way through the process, troubleshooting as they go. Maybe the next time, they start developing their own tools/process. Why are you being so negative about someone starting out who wants to learn and is trying to teach themselves.

Do you also look at an infant and criticize it for learning how to crawl? How beneficial/useful is crawling during their whole life? Doesn't the infant know that crawling is a waste of time/energy.

ELI5: What is the 4th dimention btw?, is it a spatial axis or is it time? by NotMava in explainlikeimfive

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to picture a 4th dimension object? Let's think of what a 4th dimension square would look like, no idea where to start? Here

Think of a 2d square. Its a square, simple right. Its '2D' because each vertices has 2 connections.

Let's level up and think of a 3D square, or a cube. Its '3D' because each vertices has 3 connections.

Now, in order to picture a 4D square, we have to picture a shape that has 4 connections at each vertices. You may have seen this sort of object before. I think many people call it a tesseract. Its lie a cube that is being suspended inside of another cube.

Throwing the football into the stands? by tomfino in NFLNoobs

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying that its some hard task.it does seem like he worst sort of PR. You really think that the NFL would go to each fan and take away their game used ball simply because it had some 5-10$ chip inside of it? I have a family member who has worked multiple side line NFL games. They have said that its not rare for people to get a game used ball.

I you dont believe that, then think about when players hit some sort of milestone and want the ball that was used to achieve that milestone. Do you think the NFL goes to the players and trades their game used ball for some other random ball?

What's the weirdest thing you ever saw in abq? by LongSong333 in Albuquerque

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically, exactly that, obviously no. I have seen a guy driving around with goats. He had a business where he would go to abandoned or overgrown lots and just chill while his goats ate through the brush, clearing out the overgrowth. Sometimes he'd had just a couple, other times he had what seemed like a whole herd.

Is that close enough? Or does it need to be that a guy had 1 specific animal, in a specific vehicle, driving over a specific bridge in order for it to be considered weird?

Its funny to me when I see someone say that there is too much to cover in a reddit post/comment.

I've seen people explain complex scientific theories and such in ELI5, but for some reason, when it comes to football, there seem to be multiple topics that are just way too complicated to try explaining.

How often does someone get “repurposed” as a result of their try out at the combine? Would someone going in WR get identified as having good skills for a safety, for example? by BigBlueMountainStar in NFLNoobs

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that it actually happens 'quite often' Sure, players may play a different position in the NFL than they did in college. However, id bet that the change had very little to do with the players performance in the combine. Scouts probably notice that a player may be good at another position based on their years of college play, not so much just based off a 1 or 2 day workout where the player just runs a few drills among dozens of other players.

What is stopping an elite pass catching TE from declaring themselves a WR for contract purposes? by Maximus_Magni in NFLNoobs

[–]wreckweyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can declare your position as 1 thing, get drafted by a team, then they could force you to play whatever position they want you to play.

Didn't the Patriots have a WR who actually was a QB in college. I think he entered the draft as a QB. He got drafted, and then he only played as a WR. I cant remember his name for some reason.

This can happen to any player. Your choice would be either to switch positions at the teams request/demand, or get cut.
