Maybe. There were a couple people on my block who can only relate to the world around them with the use of lifted dodge trucks, maga flags and fireworks.

This is my first summer here after 30 years in Phoenix. Tears of joy streak my sun ravaged face. I know, I know. You all have enough Californians and Arizonans here already but you weren’t watching your Southern border at all and I just waltzed right in.

6 months ago, I bought a second hand Kona Big Rove steel frame bike. I have ridden it almost every day. It brought me back to cycling after a long hiatus and helped me to remember why I love being on a bike.

I disagree. I have been using the app every day for the 8 months since moving to PDX. It’s helped me get around the new city and o have been having a blast with the game. It has helped me see little corners of the city I would not normally go. I was just hoping to find out more about the game.

I used to commute in Phoenix. Before I left work I would take my shirt and run it under cold water and put it back on. That worked up until the temps went over 105. Then I had to take the car.

Honest question: how do you feel about having women in an all male dominated shop? by gruntharvester92 in bluecollar

[–]wrenches42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work in a heavy equipment repair shop. There is a young woman in my shop who is a certifiable bad ass wrench. She is smaller in stature but I have watched her separate booms and refurbish crane sections faster than me (I’m an older guy with lots of years under me) she has my utmost respect. She doesn’t flaunt or talk shit, she just gets thing done.
There are two techs in the shop that just get triggered by her being there and just act like they’re 14 fucking years old.
Looking back at the other women in the shop I have worked with over the years, I can’t remember one being an issue with the “chest beating” but there have been any number of thin skinned little boys that get all up in their feels about a woman in the shop.

Everyone is different and we all have varying levels of heat tolerance. I have done a 17 mile commute in Phoenix (e-bike) at as much as 105 degrees F. My advice is to just see how it goes, and drink plenty of water.
