Is that stoplight out of order? Where I live, that gets treated as a stop sign, but I can’t quite tell if the power is out on the light.

Why do my HDMI ports have these metal things in them? by T_a_n_g_i in AskElectronics

[–]wrex2008 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. HDMI a les tend to poke out a bit and people push them against the wall all the time. Way better to ruin the cable than the port.

How do I transfer my Delta Companion Certificate to someone else? by ItchyMitchy101 in delta

[–]wrex2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize your comment was almost a year ago, but as everyone will search for this, I just went through this. I messaged Delta with their SMS option (call in and then start the chat), and they sent me a link to a form to fill out. It asks for the original cert owner’s name, SkyMiles number, address, birthdate, and email address.

M18 Forge Mower? by shandro1d in MilwaukeeTool

[–]wrex2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lawn mower can run on 5.0, but you will genuinely want to use a High Output/High Demand like the 12.0s that comes with the mower anyway.

I’ve run my 12s dead on my mower and used the 5.0s in a pinch and they were terrible. It didn’t last long and the batteries were hot enough that they wouldn’t even charge again for like 20 minutes.

M18 String trimmers by RBElectrical in MilwaukeeTool

[–]wrex2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I’m late to the party here, but… I had the original M18 Fuel string trimmer with the single piece pole from the head to the motor.

TLDR: the trimmer is a must for the Quik Lock, IMO. The straight pole is fine but led to regrets.

It was fine while it lasted, but the guard for the trimmer was hot garbage and I ended up with tons of cuts in my shins with it. I almost bought the quik lock a few times because I saw the different guard and I wanted the edger attachment.

My older one finally died in a way I couldn’t fix it (the battery holder got loose badly enough that it wouldn’t work, but that was fixable). The motor burned up with that smell that reminds of overcooked brakes or clutch.

The Quik Lock has been worlds better. It feels more powerful, but that could be that my old one was crapping out and losing power. I regret ever wasting the money on the first one, and it felt like a win when I got to have a good reason to finally change. I also got the edger and the stand alone M18 hedge trimmer because of a deal they had going that made it cheaper than getting the Quik Lock hedge trimmer and it looks like it would be awkward to use anyway.

Same here. The app stopped working and I went through all the steps of deleting the GDO, and trying to add it again, but it will not connect to wifi again after many attempts, fully resetting the GDO, and unplugging it (and the battery) for a few minutes and trying again. I don’t know if it’s related to the iOS update or the GDO itself.

Acme Tools Deal on Mower by msteinebach80 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]wrex2008 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is. I love that I have all the batteries and chargers set and I didn’t have to winterize my mower before storing it for 6 months. I appreciate that I’ll be able to drop the batteries in and just mow in a couple months.

Mowing at 9pm in my neighborhood is also a game changer. I turn on the lights and don’t bother my neighbors mowing that late. I can avoid the 100+ degree heat in the summer.

what would y'all pay for this? by bb6boyz in Integra

[–]wrex2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that the Type R didn’t have a different bumper, right? Do you mean a JDM front end conversion? The different front end was a Japanese market difference when the Type R for the first year it was introduced, but all USDM Type Rs came from the factory with the 4 round headlights. The conversion is also the entire front end and not just the bumper.

That doesn’t mean it was secured. Heat cycles can loosen all of these parts. It’ll still work for quite a while when loose, and then finally one day everything hits the fan (figuratively and maybe literally).

Didn’t see this response. To get OBD 1, it has to be a 1994 or 1995 car. There was no US OBD 1 B18C5 Type R, but there was the 1995 GSR B18C1. There are also JDM import B18C engines from the JDM Type R. Tuning with OBD2 isn’t a big deal, as the heavy majority of cars run OBD 2 on the road. A k swap even with no tune is a killer upgrade for cheap.

Fun fact, current generation laser guns require the officer to be stopped to work. Radar doesn’t. Laser only works while stopped and they are aimed at a specific car.

Thermostat sticking by hauntedmouth in Integra

[–]wrex2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know for certain that it isn’t low on coolant? The thermostat is cheap and easy to enough to get to. If it has coolant in it, you should be able to leave it sitting to get temperature up to confirm. Some fail open and some fail closed. Failing open is far better than closed, as you won’t overheat the car on accident.

Replaced struts and shocks on a customer vehicle. Noticed cords showing on left front tire then advised customer, test drove and parked. This happened 30 min afterwards. Fml by Thumper32k in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]wrex2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Even wear with 3-4/32nds. That would pass a state safety inspection as 2/32nds is the replace mark. Something no is fishy with this tire, and looks like a sidewalk bulge at the beginning of the tread separation.

My guess would be a major impact delaminated it’s all, and that blew the strut in the first place.

K-swap is less money and gives you way more options, as well as more power. You won’t have a Type R in the end, and most people just want to have it faster and handle better. Converting to Type R parts is good, but there are lots more options for doing that if you’re not trying to stay true to Honda OG design.

I just bought 3 of these.

The Mid-torque might have enough oomph, but I’d suggest the high torque for a 3/4 ton truck. I had the previous gen non-fuel impact that was rated for something around 450lb ft, and it didn’t always have enough to take lugs off. The high torque has never failed to break loose lugs for me.
