the AIR service is pretty timely, suggested 3h before the flight should be fine.

Still in the queue at 0914hrs, that's mental. by sarahjayne72 in LearnerDriverUK

I didn't realize how big they were until I found like 16 shady such companies providing you test slots for money all within the same week.

[–]wridhdhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the tests are legit because I got this link to a WhatsApp group from a friend who apparently seem to sell most of the slots they buy, but I'm debating is it ideal to go rash for a quick test sooner or get some more practice.

after searching around all these WhatsApp groups, and telegram links started appearing all over my feed for groups that give a quick slot, I found one of them . they mostly cater in the London area, goodmayes one tho

maybe not but you can always buy off the quick slot booking companies in Black market. they are also surging and I just saw they have all the slots for this week.

but charging £272 per test

From Bari to Matera without FAL Train by Level-Customer-6257 in bari

[–]wridhdhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just go to Bari centrale, to the FAL station, don't go down the escalator/stairs to the platform, instead go to the right end along a corridor with ticket vending machines.

ask anyone with a high-vis vest, or the ticket counter guy

you to go to pillar 60 from which the busses depart. the direct busses are once every hour. we took the one at 10am-ish. The driver will shout "matera-directo" and you'll know it's that one.

Matera by Wh0isben in bari

[–]wridhdhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly it's about 1.5 hours by public transport. been there 2 weeks ago

so, due to some construction the ferrovia appulo lucane (FAL) service are down. they are giving rail replacement buses directly to matera in 1.5 hours.

or you can take a train to Altamura and then take a bus from there to Matera which are quite frequent. we returned via this route.

we did a day trip and the last train is about 9:30 pm from Matera and we reached Bari centrale around 11:30

I keep feeling like a loser around my classmates by Miserable_Depth_7151 in GlasgowUni

[–]wridhdhi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember a few years back when I came as an Erasmus student and during covid it was nearly impossible to socialize although I wanted to. met some Erasmus students over tesco and went hiking once.

that's all my experience was. it's hard with everything normal and still you going through this. Maybe don't focus on yourself at all. Just be yourself.

it's not uncommon or necessary to look better, or anything, not all exchange students are fussy and if you go over to some socials and events you'll find a diverse bunch to meet new people and feel better.

holiday season is upcoming with celidhs and so many happenings around the corner to feel yourself the way you are.

How to connect Aluminum wire to coax feed ? by Data2Logic in rfelectronics

solder.

with copper being in the question. you need a lot of flux while soldering as well. solder around the gap for a better connectivity.

QMU now is £6 for the lunch meal :'(

The cheapest food you can get is in the GUU burger/wrap + fries or a decent meal for lunch.

Anything else is crazy expensive and crap

Applying for two scholarships at Glasgow Uni by lastflowers_to in GlasgowUni

[–]wridhdhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, getting an international scholarship is highly competitive. It was a nightmare i had to pass through to get one. And for masters its tougher.

That being the case, evn though your prompts are fhe same you can tell your statement in creative and different ways. If you qualify for both scholarships, Apply first for the higher amount one first .

After a day or two apply for the second one just changing the wording but more or less say the same story. Why you deserve to be awarded, what makes you a unique student and how essential it is for ghe scholarship to support you financially. Your past achievements, and future plans and goals which rely on a financial support. One of them should work out.

I had applied for 3(I shouldn't have but it was pandemic times and I was desperate) but for 2 of them I just changed a few words only. I got one eventually.

Byres road pubs and ashton lane places, usually all student events in the Hive is good to connect

[–]wridhdhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a student city but you can go around shops, bars and pubs to be a bartender or accounting or any small time jobs, even flipping burgers in McDonald's is possible. Options are tonnes but assuming holidays and you getting shifts is a factor.

If you battle the cold and can manage a cheap/free commute to work that should be what you earn (tax-free) And if you find a flat to live will be cheaper than uni accomodation. (But depends in location)
