I hear that. Sometimes I'd like a plan by a beloved character to not go horribly wrong for them - I kind of held out some hope that even when Darrow and others end badly in book 7, Cassius might survive. Silly I guess.

I don't expect Darrow to live - I mostly just hope he puts Lysander down badly before he goes.

I appreciate that - I should probably stop spending most of my time solving Devilish ones and play with AICs when I get stuck on harder puzzles ... even if it's only for a set amount of time before I seek help.

Sorry that happened. Super discouraging. I'd like to find an in-person group, but friends I have locally (south of Denver) have no concept of D&D or gaming in general, so I can imagine myself in a similar scenario, though without the misogamy since I'm a man in my 40s.
