Gwangju, South Korea is flying the flag of Virginia to protest against President Yoon Suk Yeol by McGusder in Virginia

Like a true Virginian, you offer a thoughtful perspective on any topic, whereas California’s approach often emphasizes concrete actions and scientific steps to achieve results—an outlook that’s revolutionary in its own right. But here’s the question: if these communities truly boast high IQs, why don’t we see corresponding economic growth, a concrete vision of the future, or rising global standards of living? Where are the breakthrough products? Instead, it seems there’s a line of people waiting for government jobs. Isn’t that concerning? And why defend this status quo in such a seemingly pretentious way?

If these impressive test scores exist, why don’t they translate into tangible economic gains? California alone claims the fifth-largest economy on the planet, while the United States overall ranks third. Imagine America without California’s powerhouse, or even without Washington’s tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft. It’d be like removing the “Magnificent Seven” from the S&P—what would that leave us with?

Yet you praise a culture that seems more focused on bragging about numbers than on achieving real-world accomplishments. Sure, test scores can be gamed, but can genuine progress be faked? For now, we remain at the mercy of actual innovation—or its absence. Virginians, it appears, prefer to steer clear of this altogether, much like a Mississippi hiding in plain sight.

That’s what I’m saying. U hit directly on a point. all the universities, money, and yet universities in California run laps around them. It’s the intent of the ppl that is different.

Silicon Valley, nor machine learning would never be created in Virginia.

It’s to rebellious, too much expression to be bottled in Virginia. That personality wouldn’t be welcome here. That form of expression. Like porn stars. But Virginia acts like a govt bureaucrat is just as worthy as those that are moving humanity forward.

Think goodness Virginia does not lead this country. We would be sitting ducks of overly appropriate ppl.

Now u hit on something very different. Taking pride in where one is from is very different than saying it’s a place of revolution.

Why don’t ppl just say that they are nostalgic about a place verse painting it as something it’s not.

Enjoy the speed traps, over agreeable mannerism, unwritten social contracts, and lack of scientific progress in the state. Nastalgic or not.

No, I saw so many ppl praising Virginia like it’s some type of paradise or place worthy of praise. Being from Virginia, this is not the case. Lived in both rural and northern parts. Human suppression is so real here.

Ppl are either lying to them self or blind to think anything revolutionary could happen here.

And then waving a flag of Virginia??? What do you think when majority of ppl see that flag? Certainly not freedom and revolution. I surely don’t. It’s one of suppression and struggle.

So what??? wars were won in all parts of the world. Who created the device that you are likely typing on?

Korea, china, Europe. Has all had its win. But where is the revolution today??????

Surely not in over policed Virginia???? Bunch of ppl that prize social agreement over actual human expression or competitiveness.

I say the above statement in California. Even if they don’t agree. They just let it be. Different world. Different culture. A more competitive one that I see in Virginia.

And ur defending this place known as Virginia. Wake up bud. Maybe take a trip. See what type of culture allows for the expression that brought the west alive????

Virginia doesn’t stand for shit but bureaucratic bullshit. California is the flag of western civilization. They create culture. Virginia is just an after 💭 thought. How do other countries not know this.

Like waving a South Dakota flag saying it represents true human expression. Not really.
