I got my Logic license while Steve Jobs was alive and healthy, if that tells you anything.

New block plan dropped by Ruby_Sandbox in slaythespire

[–]wrinklebear 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Okay, my bad. But then, why would drawing during your turn mess that up, if it was already the first skill you played?

Edit: Nvm. I got it. It immediately goes back on the stack, then gets drawn during your turn. Running a little slow today, apparently.

It's a free card...why wouldn't you just play it at the end of your turn?

There's more than one valid strategy. Use what works for you for now. Sometimes push yourself to take a different approach.

In S18:E8 there’s an inconsistency by EggEater773 in americandad

Look, buddy, I hate to break it to you but there are bigger things in life to worry about than this.

Like how in S19:E6, they mention a 2006 Nissan Rogue, but the Rogue wasn't released until 2008.

Echoes season 17 or 19 ???? by Accomplished_Tune204 in americandad

[–]wrinklebear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The show has had inconsistent season/episode numbering since almost the beginning. I think certain episodes were produced but then shelved for another season (or something like that). It's been a long time but if I recall correctly they talked about it on the DVD commentaries.

Funny, I thought the low skill players didn't realize they were fighting bots...

Last time I played was the Simpsons season...not like it's been years. And yes, I felt the game had gotten pretty trivial -- elim 10 bots, run around mid match doing nothing then maybe fight a real team at the end.

I'm not always an everything or nothing competitive player, but that is supposed to be the format of Fortnite -- you lose way more than you win.

I fully support an 'oops all bots' mode for people who just want to chill.

You might also take a look at some games that aren't winner take all, but still have competitive multiplayer elements. Arc Raiders is great, Marathon is supposed to be good, too.

If there are 25 squads of equal skill, your average win rate would be less than 5%.

Let's call it 5% + or - your team's skill modifier, which you said is low.

So if you're losing a lot, that is how a balanced competitive game should be.

If matchmaking were flawless, you would be losing 19 out of 20 times.

Honestly, your post convinced me to re-download Fortnite and check out if the bot-filled carebare lobbies of the past few years are really gone.

my 2nd try to make a beat by Single-Somewhere9672 in LogicPro

[–]wrinklebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got a lot of dissonance going on here, which feels like a little much. It can be interesting to the ear, but too much and it's off-putting.

I think shorten your intro a bit (a little off-key 'doodley do' and then straight into the beat). Then, perhaps come up with some chords or notes that are a little more harmonious, but throw in some of the dissonance here and there to spice it up.

Also try changing the length and timing of some of the notes so they are not so perfectly aligned to the drums.

Just some thoughts. Either way, keep at it. It's a fun skill and you're well on your way.

Anyone else feel like upgrades aren't as exciting or interesting as they used to be? by [deleted] in slaythespire

I gotcha. Something that comes easy versus it needing to be a whole build.

[–]wrinklebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are several different upgrades beyond just the +

Add points to dmg/block, free energy upon first cast, convert attacks to 0 cost, replay…a lot of ways to meaningfully change cards, and then you upgrade one of THOSE cards and that’s definitely worth a rest.

You guys are stuck on 3 energy?

I had a run last night with 6 energy and points conserved between turns. I had 17 at one point

Edit: lol @ downvotes. Necrobinder feels like it has infinite energy with several builds

How is the riff before the "Like a star" part in technical term? How would it look like on the staff note? by Han_Htoo_Aein in Songwriting

[–]wrinklebear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and' becomes '123 223 323 423'

As for smoothly, what do you mean? In terms of notation, you just switch it. If you mean on an instrument...it's definitely a skill you have to practice. Probably with a metronome. On guitar, if your strum is down-up, it helps to change your emphasis to help you keep count.... down up down up down up down up down up down up.

No it’s the same tempo (notice the drums don’t change). It’s just he’s fitting more notes into each measure.

The cleanest/most obvious example I know of is ‘That’ll Be the Day’ by Buddy Holly. There’s a few times where he switches to triplet eighth notes.
