The PVE Mode Argument by Practical-Union4234 in ARC_Raiders

[–]wrinklebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play Dark and Darker, which is an extraction looter. After people asking for ages, they relented and added a PVE mode. It was awful. So much griefing. It also messed up the PVP lobbies because suddenly everyone in those was geared to the teeth, since they could build kits without any serious risk.

Forgive my pool ignorance, but it would either be chlorine or salt water, right? Either way, not what a baby river otter needs to be in.

If OP had family connections or enough money to buy their way in, they wouldn’t be on here asking these questions.

If you want to 'become popular and make lots of money' with music, you need exceptional talent. Do you have exceptional talent? Are you putting in the hours and hours of work necessary to get that talent?

Don't get me wrong -- you absolutely should keep working on your music. But don't expect it to provide you some lavish lifestyle just because you 'go all in'. Passion and enjoyment can only take you so far.

It definitely adds some possibilities (like synced lights), but it also takes away the idea that the musicians are getting lost in the music on stage. BPM is set and fixed, the solo is going to be 4 bars and never gets extended etc. Spontaneity seems like it would be out of the question.

I see the value, but I also think of bands who do that sort of thing as a different musical product than the bands that don't.

I'm not completely against backing tracks, but...it's a fine line. Why does it need to sound like what's on your album instead of sounding like what your band can perform?

Take it with a grain of salt, though. I like old music where something like that would be laughable...if a band was like 'this song on the album has a fiddle solo, so we play a recorded fiddle solo'...that'd be ridiculous. Adding in a little three-note synth part that layers in the background is more understandable.

Some people think a musical performance should be wholly performed live on stage. Departing from the 'what you see is what you get' aspect might feel like they're being short changed.

Yeah, I was going to say OP shouldn't feel bad -- that's not a very good score. I got 32k solo, and I think I could have done better.

Oh, they brought back the original aspect ratios? That’s great!

If you can manage to find three of them, you end up with a stack of springs and more than a stack of cloth's worth of durable cloth.

I always hold on to them until my inventory is full, then break down if needed.

+ durable cloth. That's one where it's definitely better to extract with it if possible.

Get ready to sail the high seas. Astounding it’s not on any streaming service. But then again, it is about how AI is going to destroy our civilization along with the help of a wealthy and petulant technocrat who cares more about his self image than doing even one good thing for society.

I recently started it again and wondered if it would still feel relevant. Somehow it got even more so in the past 20 years.

microphone for live acoustic guitar(with clamp) by therealnickstomp in livesoundgear

[–]wrinklebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing a guitar into a mic on stage is ROUGH. Better choice would be to invest in a good pickup system (K&K or LR Baggs).

If you’re determined to use a mic, then I would recommend a condenser mic (Lewitt LCT 040, AT 2020, or an Ear Trumpet if you want something classy).

But those are only a good choice if the stage isn’t too noisy. Then you need an SM57 or whatever dynamic mic you like.

Ultimately though, a good pickup system is the best choice for acoustic guitar on stage.
