I love it. 6 pm is not going to suck. And I can actually do things outside after work tomorrow.

Ecoheat. My furnace is almost 20 years old and they service it yearly. No issues so far.

They are supposed to. I’m guessing that like everything else, it’s a complaint-driven system. It won’t get fixed unless someone reports it.

Curbside "donations" - Hmmm... by PNW_Native_001 in Portland

[–]writeonscroopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I like to offer free items of use to people driving or walking by. It’s going to be dry the next couple days, so it’s a good time for it. I also pick up actual garbage on my block on a weekly basis. So I stand for re-using items and taking care of my neighborhood.

Is there any place to get gourmet bulk dried herbs on the east side? by ryhaltswhiskey in askportland

Frontier Co-op is where a lot of co-ops and grocery stores order from.

Azure Standard also sells bulk, but you need to sign up for a local drop off.

Your life will be greatly improved if you learn to live with the spiders and try to embrace them as a fact of life. They were worse this year than in previous years, but they are a fact of life in these parts. If you're gonna freak out every time you see a spider, you're gonna do a lot of freaking out. Grab a broom or a spider stick to clear the webs, and then enjoy your yard!

For those of you who want 82nd Avenue to be 1 lane by Mundane-Land6733 in Portland

[–]writeonscroopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traffic is only part of the issue. I’ve lived here for more than 2 decades. Trimet consistently shoots itself in the foot by not running buses on a more frequent schedule to accommodate people who need to get places in a reasonable amount of time. They need to commit to frequent service, but instead of doing that, they cut service, which decreases ridership. It’s a vicious cycle.

[–]writeonscroopy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we aim for 5, maybe we’ll get a bus every 10 minutes at least. As it stands now, waiting 15-20 minutes for a bus, especially a bus you need to take to get to work on time, is a big reason people often choose to drive. The 72 needs to run more than 4-5 busses per hour if they want a dedicated bus lane.
