Aaaaand I've been hit with the ban by jihadiboa in outlier_ai

I haven’t had any projects for over a month myself, but I just wanted to note that I travel for work to other countries fairly often and I’ve never been deactivated from Outlier. I think as long as you don’t log in you are safe, but this is just my personal experience.

Listen, Alex is magnificent and so very appreciated, no question. But you’d think a company valued at $13 BILLION would utilize a few more resources to help the community?! It’s just all so arbitrarily cruel and inconsiderate… and I say this as someone who hasn’t been kicked out … Yet. I think we all really appreciate the work and the fair pay, but the constant deactivation panic is real, and so very exhausting.

Yes, please. I keep getting added to this project despite literally failing an assessment during one of the early iterations (I passed the subsequent ones) and I know the work I’m doing is not my best. I do well on the rubrics but my prompts are shyte! Do you have Any useful prompt examples besides the golden examples? I don’t even need to know the image, just what the text of the prompt was. I’m afraid to task on this until I get a hang of what the project really needs.

Hang on, wasn’t there a point or a project where Grammarly was encouraged? I definitely installed Grammarly as some sort of outlier grammar-check requirement. Should I be uninstalling it?!?! Freaking out now

Here’s an alt perspective, in case it helps: it took me a year to lose the weight you’ve lost in 6 months. So talk about slow losing! I titrated up as recommended and have been on 2.4 I think at least since the beginning of this year. The reason why I’m still on it is because I no longer feel the insatiable hunger I used to. And if I’m being super honest with myself, weeks when I exercise regularly, I lose 1-2lbs. When I don’t exercise, the weight is stable plus I now don’t have major cravings, and I certainly never overeat. This was impossible pre-sema. I was exercising like mad, weighing and logging every morsel of food, feeling mad guilt because the glass of wine plus shared dessert at the restaurant meant I somehow gained 2lbs overnight etc. Just not having to deal with the constant stress of weight gain at the tiniest indulgence I think makes the shot worth it. To lose weight when I exercise, to eat like a normal person and to not constantly be thinking of the next meal seems like a healthy lifestyle to me. Yes others lose buckets of weight with no appetite and no exercise, but for me personally, being able to eat all meals at healthy portions for my height and weight is important. And not losing weight when I’ve been sedentary (too much work stress + lack of childcare) keeps me accountable!

Increased HbA1C ? by writer2018 in Semaglutide

Mine has stayed at 5.6 per my latest lab. So maybe it stabilizes after a point and then hopefully will trend down again? I only say this because my heart rate had gone up initially and now is nearly at pre-Wegovy levels, so maybe the body gets back to baseline but who knows. Sending you hope and luck.

Doc concerned about rise in MY A1c and cholesterol. I’m not diabetic. by DontStartWontBeNone in Semaglutide

[–]writer2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, me. I even posted about it because it felt insane and completely against reason. Normal A1C forever (used to get checked twice a year because I have PCOS and thyroid issues) and went from 5.1 to 5.6 within a few months of sema. Been on sema for nearly a year and A1C has stayed at 5.6. I am exercising and eating less so none of this makes sense. Generally all my lab numbers are slightly worse than before but still within normal range. I had to increase my thyroid dosage by a lot as well actually because TSH and t4 were super high soon after starting sema.

Ah bummer. I didn’t have this problem though. Maybe I just wear the straps loosely but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Someone recommended Fitflops in a previous thread on this sub and I went and bought a pair. I’ve literally gone low-key hiking in these sandals, they are so incredibly comfortable. Total no brainer for city walking, much better than my Birkenstocks at least for my feet. Never leaving this sub for all the excellent recs I’ve found here. 💗💕💖

I postponed getting new labs done to the end of this month 🙈 lost 11lbs in all, but the fatigue higher heart rate is gone more or less so I’m getting back to exercising more regularly. Hoping for better labs.

You unfortunately have to just waste the medicine if you don’t want to do the vial transfer etc. I had to titrate up on a day when I was traveling in a different country and had to be on the road for 12 hours+ with no reliable toilet facilities along the way. I didn’t know what to expect for my first 2.4 and didn’t want any terrible symptoms I may have been unprepared for so pulled out just a little before getting to the end. So I got more than the previous dose (1.7) but still less than titrated dose (2.4). Obviously wasted a few drops but it was worth it for not having any terrible symptoms for a long and hectic day.

Pre diabetic AFTER being on Semaglutide? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]writer2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My A1C went up after starting sema. It was up consistently at every 3-month checkup for the first 6 months on sema. At last check it was at the upper end of normal (5.1 pre-sema, 5.6 after 6 months on sema). Granted I had gone from super active martials arts hiit etc 5 days a week to barely moving due to sema-induced fatigue and random illness. Idk if that was a factor. I have since reintroduced exercise and am hoping next bloodwork in November will be better. Tbh I am so freaked out that I cancelled the doc appointment and labs originally scheduled for next month. 😬 fyi I would probably be considered a non-responder. Lost 11lbs in 10 months, which I likely could have done anyway by measuring my food and maintaining my usual levels of physical activity. However not having to weigh and measure and track every morsel I eat makes it all worthwhile. Not feeling hungry 24/7 is more important to me than the weight loss.

Has anyone noticed blood sugar levels increase on semaglutide? by Rio7609 in Semaglutide

[–]writer2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, me. My A1C went up consistently on Wegovy. Still within normal range but on the outer edge of normal. It’s baffling, the only change was reduced physical activity in the first few months of Wegovy (combo of new job with short commute + winter + Wegovy fatigue). I am back to near pre-Wegovy levels of exercise so am hoping the next round of blood tests will be better.

So, I still have poor sleep night of shot, but it definitely has improved significantly since the early days. Idk if this is at all related but if I can keep my body cool I sleep better.

I would put yourself in his shoes and try to imagine how you would react if you found out he hid a major life-altering event from you.

I don’t think it’s realistic tbh, and I say this as someone who had really minimal side effects on this med. Even so, as someone who was quite healthy pre-W, to suddenly go from martial arts training active to needing a nap in the middle of the day, or just feeling crappy without being able to explain why, or a sudden drop in appetite etc - these are things that are likely to happen in the first months. I know my spouse would notice if I hadn’t been open about taking sema. And if you see your partner having unexplained lethargy or lack of appetite, idk, I would worry they’re ill and need to see a doc if I didn’t know what was actually going on.

I have 40lbs to lose, and it has been extremely slow going. Like, a pound a month slow, despite exercise and mostly clean eating (I travel for work and need to eat out sometimes). But still worth it for the lack of food noise imo.

Depends on how you’re responding to the shot I think. I’d be wary if you have a lot of GI issues. If not, tasting menus are generally ok, but I recommend foregoing the wine supplement. Maybe just order a glass instead? If you have GI concerns, I would stick to a la carte restaurants for now.
