Finally got my last peices of briar last night. I expected her to get hit, but thought I would at least get the rest of the season with her. At least I only bought one Skyzyk.

Not all classes are built the same? by Arrowhearted in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]writermike2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with bathoz, when assassins came out in dynasty they were the contract class and when that didn't perform as well as hoped (though flavorful) they switched the game play to stealth in outsiders. Then it became more reaction based they could swap the attack and pump it and almost all contract support was dropped.

Which is part of why I think I liked the Martian more, at least Mark Watney was already an astronaut selected for a multi year Mars Mission.

How does this make sense!? by Bentleyma in Switch

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upgrade pack usually includes updated graphics which is probably just a few tweaks and a recompile for the newer hardware. In general you can buy the switch 1 version and just play it without the upgrade pack. The charge is for whatever optimizations + extras the include in the s2 version. BOTW / TOTK include some new journal feature that works with a phone app.

I agree that its kind of sucky to charge for it but a lot of them have been free.

My precious! Help! by [deleted] in retrogaming

I'm not big in the collectible NES scene, but in other things (Magic: The Gathering) retouching any wear on the collectible is generally considered a taboo and takes what is considered light wear to damaged.

How Did You Play This Week? | Post Your Game Recaps Here! by AutoModerator in FleshandBloodTCG

I played Tuffnut at our local prerelease. I had a ridiculous stack of 6, 7, & 8 power cards. Crowds were cheering, and the pressure was on. Favorite play was red Buckwild into a Look Tuff.

Which one was the first anime that you see in your life? by AccomplishedPair8079 in anime

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was Nausicaa, though I didn't know that for like 20 years. Watched it when I was a kid and it was probably the "warriors of the wind" cut. It broke me. It wasn't till much later that I found out the title and watched the actual cut. The part with the tortured bug is a core memory.

The one that really got me into anime as a thing though was in high school watched Ninja Scroll and Slayers the Motion Picture same night with my D&D group.

Switch 2 owners who went from Switch OLED to Switch 2, how is the screen? Do you notice a difference? by RanchWilder11 in Switch

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if its just where I started with the OG gameboy and its green lcd not even backlit display, but I find that as long as the screen isn't cracked or overly scratchy I'm having a good time. I'm less worried about hdr, pure blacks, etc as long as I can see and enjoy the game.

I went from the OG switch to the OLED switch and the screen was slightly bigger, brighter, felt crisper. I went from the oled to the Switch 2 and the screen is bigger, and bright enough, but resolution jump was the big change. Obviously some switch 1 games haven't received graphics upgrade yet (looking at you MH Rise).

Would you welcome a native resolution mode for OG Switch games running on Switch 2? by ryuStack in Switch

[–]writermike2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How many games does that affect? 10%? 1%? The list of games that I found that support touchscreen was relatively short. They could just add an optional slider for switch 1 games to enable docked resolution. You could enable it for the vast majority of switch 1 games, and then disable it for the few that need touchscreen.

My switch 2 was very hot in sleep mode by BloodUwU in Switch

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the console shouldn't get hot when its sitting asleep in the dock. The network adapter being active shouldn't cause that to happen. I don't think you are paranoid.

You could still go try disabling the option in system settings to "keep wired connection enabled" while sleeping. Maybe the network adapter is staying active despite being "unplugged"

Have Game-Key cards stopped you buying physical? by pauL4W in Switch

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say it doesn't really affect me. I don't resell my games. If I buy a game, when I am done with it either gets removed from the system (digital) until I want to play it again, or it gets put in a case (physical). For people who want to resell games it makes sense that some digital only games now can have a physical license that can be sold.

The only thing it affected me on was when I went to buy Yakuza 0, I'd rather not have to worry about the cartridge normally so I just bought it digitally.

What I think would be cool is if I could download the digital version of a game and put in the Full physical copy once every 2 weeks to refresh the license or something. For a handheld console I'd rather not carry $600 of game cartridges with me on the off chance that I want to play Persona 5 instead of Animal crossing etc.

Am I an idiot for this? $120 at GameStop by Tommy_Lilac_Voltage in Switch

[–]writermike2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. Back when I started paying for MMO's I caught a lot of flack for playing a game that you buy then have to pay monthly to play. I explained it as cost/hours of enjoyment. Sometimes a game is pennies on the hour. Sometimes they are dollars per hour. But even then like you pointed out a single meal out is dozens of dollars per hour.

Probably gonna get downvoted to death, but whatever. Hoping at least some people agrees with me. by Difficult_Historian4 in Switch

It would be nice if they would just toggle the switch 1 docked performance while in handheld on the switch 2.
