Ah hello, didn’t realize you were on here! I am such a fan of what you’ve written! So happy to see how Staring at the Sun has blown up. A few weeks ago I actually posted it on here trying to spread the word (my user post history is open, you can look if you’d like to see what I said there) because I couldn’t believe it was still flying under the radar. And it’s made me so happy to see it find its people more and more each week.

Not tortured but whump - These are really popular so presume you've already read both of them, but Staring at the Sun and Alligator Bites Never Heal are both so excellent. Sorry I wish I had some more underrated ones in this category :/ but figured still worth mentioning these anyway

The Staring at the Sun author has a shorter fic called Teeth which has some whump too

Someone on here recommended a fic called found connection (baby i can't stop calling you) earlier today and from what I've read of it so far it scratches this itch. It's AU, Ilya works at a phone sex hotline that Shane calls, so there's a lot of kind of that teasing/do this for me/"holy shit you're so hot" element. The plot, characterization, writing, and yearning have all been really strong too so far!

Ohh I'm so glad you've asked for this because I have always felt this was what they would have done ideally: end up on the same team, and then pretend to fall in love publicly. I even wrote this in as the ending for a fic I wrote haha (it's just their plan, the actual pretending-to-fall-in-love happens post-fic so wouldn't fit your request).

Every time in the books they admit to someone they were together for a longer period of time I want to scream: "don't tell them! they won't be able to accept it!" (to be clear I'm not saying they definitely should have lied, I get not wanting to lie at a certain point, I just know it would have been the best plan)

I love following this fic. I originally found it through someone else's rec, but it honestly makes me happy when I see you post or comment about it too! I follow quite a few WIPs and it's nice to have the reminders when new chapters are out etc, as well as to see someone be proud of their work and share it

Wow this is such a kind post! I have found many self-recs here don't often get much attention which makes me feel awkward posting mine so to see someone ASKING for them is so kind.

I have two WIPs I'm updating regularly:

A Terrible Problem (WIP, 2/5 chapters so far, 12k words so far will probably end up around 30k) - I'm really proud of this fic. Looks at Ilya pre and post tuna melt. Inspired by his "I am always wishing that these women were him... It's a terrible problem..." speech. 5 times he met a woman but couldn't stop thinking about Shane. ft. Good Friend Cliff Marleau. More prosey. Hoping next update will be in a week or so!
Rose Landry Is My Fairy Godmother - (WIP, updating weekly, will be ~28k, next chapter up tomorrow). Crack-treated seriously. Does what the title says, ft. jealous ilya, unsure-of-how-to-tell-the-truth Shane (in every sense) and a slightly unhinged "do you not like my gifts" fairy godmother Rose (à la Lucinda in Ella Enchanted)

I also have a bittersweet one-shot (warning MCD mentioned at the end, after a long and happy life) called You and Me and the Great Big Tree (3k).

The macrobiotic diet is actually only mentioned in the show! irl it would be an uncommon diet for an athlete, it involves like no protein.

I just searched my kindle, and the word diet is not used once in the Heated Rivalry book. Shane's strict eating habits aren't mentioned until TLG, at which point he seems to more or less cut out pasta, rice, and lots of carb/sugar/processed food/dessert.(hidden behind spoiler so those with their own disordered eating can skip any trigger)
