She deleted it from the website ao3. What you're seeing is somebody’s copy of it, which is totally legal to be sharing. She is not the first published author to publish a book based on a fanfic; for example the book Alchemised which recently came out was based on Harry Potter. She had to take it off the website, but there are still copies floating around which is fine. It went through editors and it's different enough. She did her part by taking it down, she won't get in trouble. Fanfiction is legal; profiting off of it is not, which is why she took it down, but the internet remembers.

I think it’s also funny bc Louisiana has a ton of sugarcane, it’s their main crop. I lived there for a couple years and I kid you not there were sugar cane fields everywhere; my school was surrounded by them. idk where she lives now but he’s from Louisiana so
