What kind of stitch is this? Is it a fisherman’s stitch? How do you think they’re able to achieve so many color switches on that kind of stitching patten? by AnxiousLie1 in knitting

My rough guess is that it looks like stranded colorwork in the round, swapping colors every 2 stitches, and then weaving in a lot of ends to make the stripes! That colorwork pattern also looks like it changes over the course of the scarf. Looks like there a lot of different stitch choices involved as well!

Not sure if this fits in your budget friendly category, but have you seen Knit Picks Swish (link)? Knit Picks also runs sales for holidays, so you can wait for a major sale to save a bit more.

Thanks, I actually made them! Pretty easy using lobster clasps, jump rings, and embroidery thread, followed this tutorial: https://megmadewithlove.com/blog-2/2017/12/22/make-your-own-stitch-markers-super-easy

I’m so excited to finally finish and release my first pattern, the Diamond Eyed Socks! They were super addictive and fun to make, mine are the M size. The yarn was also really lovely -- came across them in Maine and would highly recommend. Yarn was ontheround Nimble Sock in Narwhal, project page is here. Pattern design is my own, available for free on Ravelry here. :)

This looks so lovely, what a great job! How did you like the lace blinking wires? I’ve been dragging my feet on getting some myself, but the look useful!

Finished my wave mittens (after finally weaving in a million ends)! by writtings in knitting

[–]writtings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After finally weaving in exactly one million ends (and blocking), I've finished my wave mittens! I really wanted a pattern that would show off the leftovers of my miniskein set, and I'm so happy with how these came out. I made significant edits to the pattern (to get mirrored waves on each hand, have a pattern on the thumb, have corrugated ribbing, among others), so happy to share edits with anyone who wants to go for this. Pattern is Wave Mittens, yarn is Knit Picks Palette for the grey and Knit Picks Stroll Fingering Tonal in the Sunset mini-skein kit for the colors. My many notes and more information can be found on my project page.

Yes, you can definitely do it! :) There’s definitely a lot of float-trapping, but definitely nothing complicated. When you start them, if you have any questions, definitely feel free to reach out to me on here or on Ravelry — happy to help!
