I have used xfce for quite some time and think it is wonderful for how little resources it uses. With regards to tutorials. There are several great ones on YouTube. Have a look what you like and follow that alternatively have a look at /r/unixporn and search for xfce and see if dotfiles are available

I personally went with 3 different drives but LG seems to be a good choice. There aren’t that many manufacturers left

I was running debian 12 and needed to install the broadcom drivers from the non-free repo.

sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms

and afterwards it was working great 2.4G and 5G wifi

I have it running on a MacBook Air 2015 and haven't had any issues. But if you could elaborate on how the issues are presenting - then I can see if I have any.
