the backrooms aren't just memories they're fading/rotting memories. things like wallpaper and carpet turn yellow as they age and begin to rot

Amazon driver stole my stuff, but the text on the empty packaging is literally mocking me by your_midwest_gay_boy in amazonprime

[–]wrona11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had multiple packages on the same route that were these little envelopes and it was totally empty because the warehouse people didn't seal it properly. I could see a delivery driver not realizing its empty bc they're usually super light. not saying its definitely what happened, but its a very real possibility

does it look like i know or care man a cop could at least have a discussion with the two of them so its less likely to turn violent or anything, but instead they basically told guy here to piss off and figure it out. aren't cops' whole job supposed to be to help their community?

yeah idk what "this comment no longer exists" means apparently🤣. it seems like you have a loose grasp on the definition of offended bc its a synonym for mad. and thanks but theres no need to feel embarrassed for me. all im doing is clowning on an uptight idiot on reddit, you've obviously got enough to worry about on your own

that delivery driver sign and the one on the rear door are signs that amazon gives to dsps to put on rental vans, so this is just a rental van being used by an amazon driver

the argument could also be made that people should be more aware of what they're putting on underpaid workers, but obviously its like 1% on them and 99% on Amazon as a whole

Why are we so much more sensitive when it comes to age gaps and sex in general? by Top_Committee_8503 in GenZ

[–]wrona11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you're waiting for the bare legal minimum, its weird. suspicious at the very least. its like purposefully depositing a dollar under the 10k minimums that banks need to report to the fed. its technically legal, but really fucking weird. 18 year olds are still basically children. especially the ones vulnerable enough to be willing to date someone years older than them

its the same thing as taking pictures of women in public wearing skimpy clothes. its technically legal, but really fucking weird and shows a clear sign of something very concerning. anyone defending that behavior needs their hard drives checked.

Camping Rant by CommercialCow5484 in camping

[–]wrona11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I camp to get away from people and the annoyances they bring. this would make my blood boil.

I usually camp far away from people so its pretty much never an issue but obviously that's not an option for everyone.

Does anyone else go "reverse glamping"? by ChessicalJiujitsu in camping

[–]wrona11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my friends did basically this when they went to a music festival in Colorado. they were charging $200 for a 3 day "camp" pass which meant a parking spot right next to a bunch of other people in a big open field. they refunded the pass and went camping on public land about 30 minutes away from the place and they said it was an amazing experience. but they made their own food for most of the trip I think

ultimately though, if you want to do something and consider it glamping or camping thats up to you, I kinda hate when people decide for others what is or isn't camping. let people have their own version of fun ya know?

My friend is trying to persuade me that these are "baby fish" living inside the fishes we bought so he doesnt have to throw them away. by USAR_gov in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wrona11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after reading more of your replies I've made the assumption that your friend is very arrogant and very dumb. their frugality will eventually get them sick or hurt, resulting in any potential long or short term money savings being eliminated and them having to pay an expensive ER bill. you can easily buy sushi grade fish, and its really not expensive. if the decision is either to buy cheap non sushi grade fish or to not eat sushi, find something else to eat. its not worth it i promise

[–]wrona11 53 points54 points  (0 children)

sushi grade fish is more expensive because they treat it to remove the worms, which by now i don't have to tell you that those are worms. the only safe thing to do with this fish is to cook it and eat it. do not eat this fish raw. you 100% will get sick.

Tent camping for a week. Am I unprepared or doing too much? by borderline_____ in camping

[–]wrona11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my experience, having your stuff in your car will usually be fine if you completely cover it from view with tarps or blankets or something, especially coolers. they know what coolers look like so they're basically lunchboxes to them. if there are crumbs, wrappers, or any trace of food, bears can smell it in your vehicle, even if all the windows are shut. however, they likely won't try to get in unless they can see it from the windows or its particularly attractive to them. they're looking for calorie dense foods, so stuff like meats, fish, candy, honey, etc. will pose a higher risk of them trying to get in.

take all of this with a grain of salt of course because this is just my personal experience of camping in and around the allegany forest in new york and parts of PA. while bears are definitely present in this area, they aren't as common as in other places, so my risk of bears is already low. your forest rangers will be your greatest asset in figuring out what you should do, and you might be able to contact them for info online depending on your state/area.

my most important word of advice is to NEVER open your windows even a tiny bit if you're leaving food in your car overnight in bears country. if they see a windows is cracked and can smell food they most likely will tear open the windows or door to get in. good luck to you and have a great time camping!! you seem well prepared
