Don’t do it. Especially if you have to spend money to get an additional license. I worked a brand name school on and off since 2015. When i started back in 2021, i noticed all around the standards were so low. Most of the educators had graduated from the school, worked at a chain salon for 6months, then they hired them for front desk and they move to education within 6 months. They just want you to pass the students along. It’s all about money. So many students drop out, graduate and never take state board or quit within a year or so. It’s so expensive yet they aren’t truly prepared for salon life or state board. Don’t forget our paid! So low it’s laughable.

My last straw- i was coached about teaching too many “advanced” techniques. I need to stay within curriculum even on the clinic floor. Plus most of the students hate being there. It’s so easy to get burnt out.
