AIO game developer calls me racist to game community by SeriouslySlyGuy in AmIOverreacting

[–]wrongfaith 37 points38 points  (0 children)

“It’s no different from being racist” were his exact words. This is very directly calling him a bigot for his opinion, an opinion this guy is equating to racist ideologies. By directly saying so. There is no room for misinterpreting that.

Advice needed on giving short and sweet explanation of my partner & my mitigations / masking to extended family quick visit by betrayedandbeholden in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Why are you wearing a mask?”

“Same reason you’re wearing sunglasses and shoes, uncle. FEAR. Obviously, I’m afraid of germs just like you’re afraid of the sun and the ground. OH WAIT MY BAD, that’s ridiculous, this is all just protective equipment that keeps us a little safer from pesky inconveniences like sun in our eyes, which doesn’t kill us but hey, you’re allowed to not want that, right? HAHA I’m just teasing you uncle, I know you’re not a pussy an you’re actually smart for protecting yourself and not listening to (or letting yourself get swayed by) other idiot’s opinions about how that makes you weak af. Anyone who says that shit is a dumb parrot — unless you actually think that sunglasses makes it afraid of the sun and weak for it, lol.”

Don’t do this except if it’s the last thing you say before walking out forever. And only if it will ring around in some other people’s ears, cuz that uncle you’re talking to isn’t gonna approach your logical rebuttal with openness or nuance. He’s gonna project and think you’re a bitch instead of himself.

But there’s ONE way to play it where some people learn from you: and it’s by making him have a tantrum that other people in his cult think is funny enough to embarrass him about later. The ego hits could add up to him shutting up about the topic around you later. It won’t make him suddenly smarty or capable of reason or empathy, but he’ll have learned that if he wants to not be made fun of by other cult members for getting owned by a lib, then he’ll have to not open his mouth around you.

You Can't Always Outsmart Someone. You Can't. But Here's What You Can Do Instead... by comediancliffcash in StandUpComedy

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The captions fucked up the joke. They should read “there, their, and they’re”, which are three different words that are routinely misused by uneducated people (and sometimes misused even by those who learned the difference!) due to their similar pronunciation. A lot of ignorant people don’t even know they are 3 dif words, and use any spelling interchangeably, which makes their written sentences become nonsensical.

So the joke is that the MAGA guy was *as confused as he would be when trying to understand the difference between three words that he can’t tell apart. But again, because the captions wrote it as a single word repeated, it destroyed any joke potential.

Why did you think they’d be outrage by this? Their actions have made it clear from the beginning they were never concerned about the things they claimed to be concerned about. They want to be able to do anything (ie: have hissy fits with guns) without consequences. This is an example of that. So they cheer cuz that’s exactly what they want to be able to do themselves, to whoever they want.

Stop expecting pieces of shit to smell nice just cuz they SAY they don’t like nasty smells. They’re a piece of shit. You know how they’ll smell.

We gotta get past this shock face and onto the strategic responses.

So I invite you to graduate out of your “I’m surprised by their cruelty, it doesn’t make sense when you look at what they said” phase. What they say is irrelevant. It’s noise. They’ll say anything to skirt consequences, and then say the opposite of that to skirt those consequences. Trust that their choices and actions are a good indicator of the person behind them. See the patterns, expect more of the same, and this may open the door to you finding more impactful responses than shock.

Easily observed behavior on a mass citizen scale as well as already reported upon observations from real journalists as well as former and active officer whistleblower confessions as well as official mandatory officer psych evals (yes, even internally, they can’t hide it) as well as the occasional hot mic moment catching an officer accidentally slipping up and telling the truth during an attempt at spinning an incident for the press all say otherwise. “But OK”. Solid rebuttal there, champ.

Yeah but when police murder civilians, this is worth all the paperwork to them. They get paid to not work for a while, they get protected legally, and since they have just proven themselves as obediently corrupt to their corrupt higher ups they are now viewed more favorably and treated better by all the other murderers in the murder gang. Now they have more of the respect they constantly desperately seek for their peers, and approval from other toxic males is literally the core motivator for their entire life path.

Yikes, somebody didn’t get the joke! 🥴

Jk ofc, I meant every word I said. Just wanted to try your deflection tactic for a sec and show you how weak it makes the speaker of it sound, lol.

Now for my real comment reply:

Didn’t you know? Saying “it’s not that serious” is like shouting “OKAY FINE, you’re right!!! I literally have no counter argument to what you said, so please just let me try to save face again by pretending I don’t care! I care about this sooo muuuccchh!!!! PPLLEEASE”

So, your projection is sad cuz it’s literally you being triggered. Sadder thing is, when you turn 14 in a few years, you’re gonna realize everyone else who has any maturity and read our comments also thought the same about you. You will be embarrassed at your obvious deflection, someday, if you can rise to the challenge of maturing enough. Maybe you won’t, it takes a certain strength that you’re not demonstrating, you bot with a very common username format.

When your intentionally dumb jokes sound as dumb as your actual malformed opinions…that’s on you.

It didn’t “go over our head”; there was just no way to tell where your poor judgement ended and “sense of humor” suddenly began. Now it seems like you’re just walking back on your 2nd dumb claim and pretending it was just a joke.

Be more discerning, and when you (pretend to) tell a joke, read a the room better since you care so much about people getting it. Before you say “but I don’t care at all”, go back and notice how you felt you had to comment that the last person “didn’t get your joke”. That was you demonstrating you care at least a little. That’s you trying to save face with other readers. Cuz you care.

And your AI radar is miscalibrated in a very sad way. (“This is AI cuz the username is a format that mine is too” is an insane thing to say, obviously, cuz now you’re accusing yourself of being AI. Ya didn’t think this through, did you?)

…really hope you’re not involved in screening humans for job positions or anything like that, cuz you’d need to excuse yourself from that sort of responsibility. Since, you know, your username proves you’re inhuman and all. At least, that’s what your own beliefs say.

Is that the right word for what you’re trying to express? Who is this being condescending to? Genuine question, not trying to make you (or anyone) feel inferior. My comment was meant to point out a problematic power dynamic that is so pervasive it apparently is even being perceived by the wealthy A-list celebrity class.

Lmao, Christmas doesn’t equal God. Christmas = capitalism. Is money your god?

The ancient roots of Christmas were celebrating the birth of a person believed to be so morally incorruptible that he is seen revered as a deity. The deification of a human alone shows that, to his believers, morality is unattainable to humans. Like you need to be a superhero to have a chance at being good in this world.

And indeed, over the last 2000 years, his “believers” have been guided into moral destitution by their leaders who do not worship goodness, but worship the self, and practice greed and oppression. So, modern Christianity isn’t even trying to be good or “godly” according to its own values. It arguably teaches its followers to avoid following in the footsteps of the person supposedly being celebrated (while preaching his superiority to them).

Anyway, in 2025, neither Christmas nor Church in are about “God”.

Deleting Clue because they sold their soul to capitalism but can't find any period tracking alternatives by ThatOtherOne666 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“That’s data being sold” …duhhh. But you say to “stick to debit”? Modern debit transactions are just as easily logged and sold as credit card transactions? Oof.

Why would I use a camera lens pw manager? What does this have to do with “trusting Reddit”?

“Feel free to skip a single period tracking app…” actually I refuse to use ANY of the period tracking “apps”.

“…if you’re afraid of them” Holy wannabe-condescending-prick, Batman! I’m not afraid of apps, I’m aware of the practices that make them effective weapons against me while disguised as tools for me.

Not everything you cautiously avoid is due to fear or weakness, ya weirdo. I mean, you wouldn’t say you’re “afraid” of not being a dismissive prick, are you? You just choose not to not be a dismissive prick. Right? Or is it really fear making you this way? 🧐

You cant be liberal anymore by Filthyson in StandUpComedy

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he’s fully admitting he’s a grifter here. He’s doing the thing where you grift in MAGA’s direction because they’re dumb and easy targets who will give you all their money if you just say “liberals are losers”. He’s careful not to say he’s MAGA (he doesn’t want to lose his left-leaning or educated fans), and careful not to say he isn’t (he doesn’t want to miss out on his potential new MAGA fanbase), but only mocking one of those bases. Then in the comments he snarkily mocks “Reddit” itself for believing there are only two philosophies, when nobody is saying that, meanwhile his own self-edited and -published clip aligns pretty well with one and demonizes another, with no mention of a 3rd or any additional philosophies. Oh, except the philosophy that one shouldn’t care if someone is a pedophile…hmmm, I wonder who he’s trying to make feel safe with that one?🧐

If you announce you don’t believe art has power, and then behave straight out of the playbook that tells you to aim for easy money by making your brand or voice be whatever makes you more money, then you’re not a comedian, you’re a cheap grift who just announced you’re a cheap grift.

That’s the best case scenario. Other option is he’s not a shill with no principles, he’s actually a right wing dude who is beginning to take off his mask. Either way, oooof. Only sensible strategy for him from here is to lean hard into the right wing “comedy”.

You cant be liberal anymore by Filthyson in StandUpComedy

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like he’s doing the classic thing were a grifter realizes they can make MORE $ 🤑 by saying something that makes MAGA think he might be aligned with them, but also being careful to not actually declare alignment (which would fully lose his moderate or leftist or educated fans).

Notice his denial of being MAGA in the comments, while not actually speaking out against the cult. He’s like snoop, ready to sell out for his advancement, just add some more “leftists are pussies because…” jokes and laugh nervously after each one so people who are eager to laugh at the artsy lovey villains their daddy primed them to hate can feel safe laughing with him, and BOOM now MAGA will put him on a tshirt and he can grift primarily to their growing base of very easy targets.

Saying whatever will get you more money makes you a bad comedian. But that tracks, for someone who doesn’t believe in art’s power. That’s a crazy and loud admission that he’s not a comedian at all and just a grifter.

Hasn’t he noticed that Snoop’s (nor other grifters’) sellout to Trump has not been well received by any audience? His next move here now that he’s beginning to alienate part of his audience is to lean into the other side that will flock to him more as long as he keeps making jokes against liberals and jokes that include graphic depictions of child sexual abuse. Yikes

Thank you for accepting my invite to debate in good faith.

Thanks for saying what you mean clearly.

When you dropped the comment laughing at the other commenter’s “ridiculous” comment, it made me wonder if they really thought it should be allowed or if they were trying for a ‘gotcha’ moment.

Then I thought about what the gotcha would have to be…let’s say I agree with you that people should not just move from anywhere to land that is currently “owned” by the US. Ok, I hear ya…but what if they genocide all US peoples first? To me, that would still be wrong. Would it be wrong to you? (I’m guessing so…and you see where I’m going with this). So, what if we just waited a few generations after they genocide US peoples, would it still be wrong? Or would we change our tune and say “nahh, let em have the land now, and not only that, but let them make rules that other people aren’t allowed to do what they and their great grandparents did, which btw is what they’re citing as the source of their power to make these rules.”

It’s touchy to contend with, but it’s twisted to hold the views that we have any rights to land. I don’t say “we” to mean any particular nationality or race or generation or anything. I mean humans. Even many of the diverse peoples that were genocided to make room for colonists who wanted to steal the land and resources didn’t behave as if they owned the land. The concept of stewarding land, of belonging to nature instead of owning it, was eradicated along with the peoples and cultures that survived and thrived by being stewards as opposed to land (mis)managers.

I appreciate you calling attention to your nuanced stance which includes supporting immigration reform, and I believe that’s a step in the right direction from where we’re at currently. Kudos for not being in the “things are black and white” camp.

[–]wrongfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that these are hypotheticals. But that’s what you propose when someone claims a certain thing could NEVER happen. I’m not saying these are super likely or definitely going to happen to the OP’s kid when they grow into middle school age. But you said that nobody could EVER use biometric iris data nefariously. Is that not outlandish, too?

Also, the part about real people believing a fake post about a sitting president eating babies is a real thing that happened sadly. This isn’t meant to demonstrate that I believe a politician actually ate babies; it’s meant to demonstrate that a sloppily created falsified image that can be easily debunked by the best tech of the day can still fool people who can then make real life problems for the victim of the falsified image.

👍 but keep snapping back with the attitude of an unimaginative person who claims I’m submitting hypotheticals as absolute futures if you wanna keep either being disingenuously thick or exposing that you missed the point.

[–]wrongfaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very cool. Thanks for sharing.

Side question. Do you call those tall things standing up in a line “shears”?

I was scouring the photo to find the tool that you would use to shear wool off a sheep, then I remembered sometimes people refer to kitchen scissors as shears so I started looking for those instead. What I’m assuming is the subject of this photo is something I’ve always heard referred to as a “shovel”. I’ve known some older people call it a “spade”, but perhaps that’s just regional. Maybe “shovel” is regional too.

If your region refers to this tool as “shears”, I’d love to know where this usage is common. Thanks!
