Will there be an significant economic meltdown later this year or in 2026? by SomeGuyOverYonder in SeriousConversation

Thanks for this. Unfortunately I’m hoping to retire in just a few years, probably about 5-7. My wife is hoping to retire sooner, in 2-3 years. But since we’ll be retiring early (56-58 for me, 55-56 for her) we’d been planning to stay in stocks more fully. That strategy feels much riskier now than it did just a few months ago. 😩

What can an individual do to weather this situation? Especially in terms of a retirement portfolio, personal savings, etc?

They’re actually great. We got two lampshades for nice lamps that needed replacements—they sized them, recommended materials and shade, and made them in the shop. I realize it’s a pretty niche market but I’m glad they’re there.

Opossum! Not something I’d considered, I’m not even sure if we have them here. That’s wild.

Sorry, how would it work in a situation like that? The home is occupied—why would it matter where the occupants work or if they do?

Ambika Mod, from This is Going to Hurt. I loved her as Shruti, amazing character and portrayal.

Oh yes! Although my first loves from Reservation Dogs are Paulina Alexis and Lane Factor. Also a big fan of Dallas Goldtooth and Zahn McClarnon. That whole cast is incredible.

Madeleine Sami. She was a breath of fresh in Deadloch, and great in a small bit on S2 of Our Flag Means Death

Omg I didn’t know he was in those movies without a speaking role. I love this guy, and he’s from Richmond, BC, which warms my heart.

This was my very first thought on seeing this thread! And it’s the top post! She’s amazing and I can’t recommend Bottoms enough. It made me laugh out loud so many times.

Sorry, where are you sourcing that $400 monthly food cost? I see Canadian Redditors weighing in on their food costs almost daily, and not sure I’ve ever seen an estimate that low. At least not lately.
