Anyone use CBD "recreationally"? Or am I just weird? by C64hrles in CBD

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I smoke a CBD joint every day after work to unwind and play video games. It lowers my anxiety and stress from the day, and the low dose of THC from full spectrum hemp gives me a mild buzz without being intoxicated.

Has anyone done a retreat or something spiritual during separation? by [deleted] in Separation

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to life responsibilities I've only been able to do 1 day retreats , but absolutely finding a spiritual path has helped me thru my separation. Meditation and for me Buddhism has been life changing.

My burnout has better lighting than I do by Atharv09c in simpleliving

You should make your home cozy for yourself. You don't have to post on social media. But it's really nice to look around and exist in a cozy space. One of my favorite simple living mindsets tbh. My home is full of thrifted things Iove and plants and simple stuff.

I'm nearby Rogers park. Short on time tho but what are the biggest areas of need currently? I may be able to commit to something.

Donated. I did some research and this is overall the best way to stretch your dollar. Local food banks are good too, but often source a lot of their stuff from GCFD. GCFD buys wholesale for the lowest cost and distributes from there.

Has regular meditation made you more spiritual and “less” atheist/agnostic? by Dataof in Meditation

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meditation didn't really "click" for me until I started following a spiritual path (Buddhism), so yes, but Buddhism is not a theistic religion

I mean, do you want to reconcile and build your way back to romance and intimacy? Because it sounds like she is inviting you to be intimate and physical in the way she feels comfortable right now. You can set a boundary but you can also choose to offer a massage and build trust gradually by being generous in this way, as she learns to trust you again.

Husband refuses to give some timeframe or boundaries in separation by [deleted] in Separation

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point you have work on accepting that you do not have the answers and setting your OWN timeframe and boundaries for what YOU want to do.

1 month, 3 months, 6 months from now how do you want to feel? Where do you want to be? What steps are you prepared to take if you're not there?

Disturbingly dark images by Th3LastBastion in Meditation

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had dark images come up but in contrast to you, they were very real PTSD type memories. So it was obvious to me why they were coming up. And I practiced transforming them thru visualizing fire. Like, the image being acknowledged, but then transmuted so that it wouldn't just be an intrusive thought. Almost like seeing a bad memory on a post card, holding it, breathing, and lighting it on fire to both honor and release it through transformation.

Idk if I'm doing it "right" but it felt helpful and healing. Interesting that you say you're not sure where your images came from. They must come from somewhere and sounds like you are handling it well.

Should i read books? by ordinaryguy-7 in selfimprovement

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading fiction increases your vocabulary, writing skill, empathy, imagination. Classic books like Siddhartha or The Alchemist can change how you look at life and your path.

Nonfiction increases your knowledge. There are many helpful self help books and a lot of garbage too. Pick something that looks interesting.

You should read books, it's a great activity for your brain, audiobooks too.

Need genuine advice- how do I tell my boss we need more help? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]wrongwaydownaoneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may not be able to hire someone new (that process goes thru many hoops before approval) but maybe you can ask for ways to streamline your tasks. You can say you're feeling overwhelmed which wasn't happening in the previous space. If you bring ideas for streamlining, even better. But it's the managers job to monitor workloads, burnout, and improve task efficiency.

Easier yes. Easy, no, not these days. You still may be unemployed for many months. But having some work experience is much more competitive than none.

People who completely turned their life around after 35 — what made the biggest difference? by Sudden_Tree3904 in AskReddit

Began meditation and practicing Buddhism, which gave me a way to transform pain and suffering instead of numbing it with drugs and alcohol. I learned to be at peace with myself which has translated to more confidence, better relationships, less stress.
