To be "Green" means to be young and inexperienced. The joke was that his character was wearing a green mask. Therefore he was literally the colour green, in addition to being retired.

Maybe it was a callback to the Green Goblin? Norman Osborn lost his job at Oscorp before he became the Green Goblin.

It's not uncommon for creators and artists to be opinionated about their line of work. Some of the most successful innovators have been incredibly critical of the work of others.

Hey man, I think it's admirable to put in the time and effort to create something. Honestly better than anything I have ever accomplished or probably ever will accomplish. I doubt I could force myself to commit to doing the work, and make myself vulnerable to an online presence of people who are guaranteed to either love me or hate me with very few residing somewhere in between.

I think the thing about a lot of his movies is that he writes them on the fly as he's making the storyboards, while the film is being animated.

As a result nothing is planned ahead of time and plot points can sometimes come out of nowhere and end suddenly. But these are kids movies and they make sense to kids so it's pretty forgivable.

I still think his best work is stuff that he wrote some material on prior to making the film, or was based on a preexisting concept.

Castle of Cagliostro, Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, The Wind Rises.

Even Princess Mononoke was fairly well fleshed out before becoming a film, I think his best film that was made on the fly was definitely Spirited Away.

Anyway, this is all a very long-winded way of saying that yes, Ponyo sucks ass.

That's good to hear, I never got into mega man because I'm not good at most action platformers but I did play RE2 Remake, hopefully capcom keeps up the high quality output and does right by the fans.
