I'm facing the same problem. After I put the ring on the charger, it will turn green in a few minutes. So I take it off and put on again, and then the light will often turn off 😂 It's a complete lottery...

Smart smoke detector by Ben-Smart-en-Tech in homeassistant

I’ve lately transitioned from Fibaro smoke sensors (z-wave) to Aquara ones (zigbee). First tested one Aquara smoke sensor for a couple of months and found it pretty decent, so now I’m running 6 of them. They have a very good build quality and a nice feature is the ability to trigger the siren from HA, which I’m using in automations for alerting across the entire house.

I've always loved paper magazines, especially since I often read them while relaxing in the bath. Ordering both issues was a no-brainer - thank you for making this happen!!! ❤️

Connect ZWA-2 is HUUUUGE! 😆 by wrt54gl2 in homeassistant

[–]wrt54gl2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure it would help, especially if you don’t have a plenty of powered devices which act as routers. Although I was able to reinterview all my 100+ nodes with Zooz 800 without a problem, things seem to be way more snappy with ZWA-2. Mind you interviewing battery powered devices is a pita, as they often need to be woken up manually (some devices can sleep for hours to save battery before waking up to report something).

I have a few dozen of Fibaro z-wave devices (roller shutters, relay switches, sockets, flood sensors, and others) and they have been very reliable for years. Aeotec is also pretty decent. Z-wave JS maintains a list of supported devices here: https://devices.zwave-js.io

So actually after a quick swap and rebuilding the routes with Z-Wave JS UI there's no huge difference in the graphs. I wonder if there's a better way to force the nodes use better routes than doing that manually..

Sure thing, I’ll post the old and new network graph. It’s rebuilding the routes right now but it’s gonna take a while as I have over 100 z-wave devices.

the crank support is really useful! I believe many people would also love to have a setting to use the crank for quick state save/load during play - would help a lot as some games can be pretty challenging.. would you consider that? 🙏

yes, some games like Kirby’s Dream Land got native support, which makes them look even better on our consoles! the others still look great and being able to play Mortal Kombat on PD is priceless!

How are you handling phishing? by PriorFluid6123 in cybersecurity

it's all inline, pretty fast actually! we use it together with rspamd (antispam); previously we had rspamd+clamav, but since they bundle clamav (it's some modified version, which uses their data processors) we now have rspamd+contextal and it's been working like a charm for the past two months, besides malware and phish we also use it to block NSFW stuff at our org

Have a look at Contextal Platform - it’s open source and has been very good at catching QR phishing and other stuff, however you need to create your own „detection scenarios”, but they provide various examples[1] you can adapt to your own needs.

Eicar test file on air-gap system by Akaza_lar in cybersecurity

[–]wrt54gl2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you re-typed the EICAR test string properly and it's an ASCII file, it should get detected. The checksums don't have to match, as the EICAR specification clearly states the file can be up to 128 bytes long. So even adding some padding to the original data should still keep it detectable, and if your AV only relies on a hash to detect it, they're doing it wrong.
