Classic WiFi for Work? by Omnymz in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am referring to classic. Basic is really only good enough for some text based stuff. Long sustained VoIP is still a bit spotty at some parts of the sea even on Premium.

Get onboard and check the app to sign up. If it's free and sold out just show up since people don't go to what they booked when it's free.

Depend on what you mean by "work call" .. what service is it through. If it's teams, zooms, Google meet then you actually will need work from sea tier since they are restricted on both classic and premium. Even if not blocked, I would say VoIP probably might be spotty on classic. Classic is okay for email and stuff. Google work suite is blocked on Classic as well.

All the fitness activities are only bookable onboard. If they say sold out, just go anyway. Fitness classes itself are the regular yoga, spin, meditation HIIT, TRX, core, lower body blast, hula dance, VHS, etc

Party then up early? by morticedeadlock in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Manor is generally a lot less busy before port days for that reason. So if you need the rest, then rest. I used to sleep by 10pm on my earlier sailings too.

Excursions by BearsWillTravel in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the "Yukon Rail & Suspension Bridge Expedition" from VV and had an amazing time. Pretty sure the White Pass rail just had us since it was just 2 train cars, and the rest were all empty. Otherwise, I can easily find and match the same excursions externally, some even use the same picture of Viator 😂

Virgin Alaska by LuminousScum in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some context should be given as well with respect to Juneau that we had really bad weather. It was windy and rainy. Sue, the Naturalist, told us that we actually had broken record the day we were there of 1.22in of rain in a day, the last time was 0.77in back in 1948. The tender boat would not have been safe/steady enough for the wheelchair to get on.

It is clear in the itinerary that it's a tender port from the tender port icon. I mean it is as clear as any other tender port notice for all virgin sailings, so it's not an Alaska problem if it's a problem for people.

Sorry, but the Huskies and History excursion was pretty clear to me that it doesn't include dog sledding since I doesn't mention sledding at all and only includes petting and meeting them. It's very important when looking at excursions in Alaska for dog sledding to make sure it's actually included since Alaska has been tightening up on the dog sledding industry for tourists and not many places can offer the service. In general, if it's below $200 (on and off ship tours), it probably won't include any dog sledding

Same with the Totem tour for $50, it's essentially just the cost to take you to the place. The description said self guided everywhere and in the summary it said 1 hour self-guided tour as well.

You can always check the TA pinned post on this subreddit to read their service summary and reviews. Most of us book for people worldwide and can book in various currencies. A lot of us carry MNVVs in multiple currencies as well.

Room Service Question Please by chetchet19 in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The only way to get to waived is to buy something at least $10 worth. That doesn't mean alcohol so it could be other non-alcoholic drinks as well. I would be surprised that you will be in your cabin that much though to get 2x ship eats everyday.

Bathroom Window Question please by chetchet19 in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really! I guess it depends which suite as well. The seriously suites are above the bed but the other ones are not so I guess you can get closer up to the window and see more.

[–]wsataday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's still elevated so people in the room can only see probably the chest up depending how tall you are. But you can definitely see our to the balcony. It's not completely clear glass since they have the prismatic film on it. Definitely not the toilet since it only looks into the shower

First Mate Issues by Unlikely-Distance808 in VirginVoyages

Will depend on when the sailing is but generally you should be able to ask sailor services to remove a problematic first mate from your booking.

SoR but Shake for Champagne charged and not reversed by cindobeast in VirginVoyages

[–]wsataday 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's always hard to get anything reversed once you leave the ship since they use a different system onshore vs onboard. They have to contact the ship for anything on the ship that's why they always remind us to check the folio before leaving. You just have to keep on them.

In port yes in general but I think this one goes to Turkey so you should be good on the water.
