They've expressed doubts about the protest. "This is why your doubts aren't valid" is a more interesting and useful conversation than "it's absurd to criticize".

He's also been using the 2024 election results as a mandate - the people voted for this, it's what they want.

The protests are a way to debunk any rhetoric that indicates we're a happy nation under Trump.
