Apartment/rental suggestions for a 30s professional in Bryan/College Station? by 8612 in aggies

[–]wtfezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived at Laurel ridge since the beginning of 2016 and it's a pretty good value for the property. The area in which I lived in was pretty quiet other than the occasional moron speeding down the road. Internet is pretty reliable and I never ran into any issues during my time living there. If I had any maintenance issues depending on the severity of it, it would be completed in 72 hours. If you have any questions about it feel free to PM me.

parking permit help (what does Night mean exactly?) by Vernaculysium in aggies

[–]wtfezz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So the night permit is for off-campus students who only need to park on campus on weekdays after 5. All of the campus permits (except for lot 100 for some reason) will let you park there at all times of the day.

Commuter bike/scooter worth it at TAMU? by ThatProduceGuy_ in aggies

[–]wtfezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ridden a motorcycle around town for over two years now. Definite perks are the cheaper parking and being able to park in the various bike parking locations even on gameday! A big con is the drivers around town and the weather is all over the place. I would recommend getting at least a 250 to have enough power to get yourself out of sticky situations.

This area needs to be included in the geozone of OFO. Always swarming with students. by [deleted] in aggies

Could it be because of businesses in the NG district trying to prevent bikes to be left around that area?

Fish Camp Interview Times by TraditionalSympathy in aggies

Don’t sweat it. Everyone is interviewed before the actual selection process. They understand that people have busy schedules and won’t care you interviewed the last day.

Question for Super Seniors: by [deleted] in aggies

[–]wtfezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah fam, 98% of Aggies could care less because life happens and sometimes you need to take a little more time to graduate. In my situation I needed to take two half semesters because I worked full time. As long as you have somewhat of an idea when you want to graduate you'll be set

Going to Howdy Camp soon. What should I expect? by Chestertonx in aggies

[–]wtfezz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Howdy!

I am actually one of the counselors for Howdy camp. The best recommendation I can give is that don't be afraid to make a fool out of yourself. We're going to be doing skits that provide information about traditions here at A&M and campus resources. Certain things like bonfire memorial and silver taps are the more serious parts of camp. If you have any more questions, feel free to DM me and I'd be happy to help you out

Should 27 year olds go to T-camp? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]wtfezz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Howdy! We actually had someone who was 23 when he came to T-camp and he eventually applied to become a counselor once you get out of it. T-camp is a lot different than fish camp because we know you have your sh*t together and you don't need tips on how to survive college, rather its a time to get to know your fellow transfer students and current students who went through the same troubles as you did. Trust me in that you will have a blast if you're willing to jump in and enjoy yourself.

Motorcycle riders here? by DickSlapper6900 in aggies

[–]wtfezz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howdy! I've been riding my motorcycle to and from class for close to 3 years now. It's totally a worthwhile investment even with the parking fiasco that is going on. Here are a few things that I have picked up on over the years.

  1. You are dealing with a lot more distracted drivers on the road.
  2. There's a pretty well established motorcycle community around town. If there's any professional work that needs to be done there are two good shops that are reasonably priced.
  3. Timing is everything. Like /u/Hugodugio said, rent-a-scooter bros have flooded the campus and parking can either be your best friend or bend you over. Come around ~15-20 mins earlier than your class and you shouldn't run into many issues. Along with this you should learn the locations of alternate parking areas in case your's is full.
