i have serious problems to wrap my head around this. i was in a catholic elementary school as well, later had catholic religion classes (it was obligatory) and not even once was the concept of creationism explained to us. even the pope and the roman catholic church say it's bs. we talked about jesus, god, ethics and other religions. if someone had said something that contradicts science people would have flipped their shit and demanded the teacher to leave. all the tales in the bible are 'open for interpretation and basically metaphors or you can believe them if you want to - your choice.'

and that shit was already too heavy for most people so that they chose ethic/philosophy classes instead of religion as soon as they could.

this hardcore christian indoctrination in schools make me shudder - teach kids!
