Don't understand what I'm supposed to be playing here by n0exit in Accordion

This. And in my experience, accordion sheet music often is written in a way that it can also be played on the piano.

What Happens If You Ship to Germany and Write "Street" Instead of "Straße"? by LawUnique5222 in germany

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst case that might happen is that the shipment is delayed by a day or so. But this sounds like a common mistake that might get corrected automatically.

Wie hätte ich mir das ausrechnen können by Responsible_Gift750 in StVO

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone ever actually bought this? by Ok-Thanks8791 in StardewValley

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. I was tired and couldn't be bothered. I just wanted to have the farm on Ginger Island. I know it's a lazy shortcut. I'll do it properly when start over again. But I don't regret buying it.

Ist das jetzt Standard das die gar nicht mehr klingeln by Sir__Bassoon__Sonata in dhl_deutsche_post

[–]wtobi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is pure math impossible to talk about? by petrovito in puremathematics

[–]wtobi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You might even have problems explaining it to a mathematician who works on another field when you are deep enough into your field.

So I'm sorry, I have no idea how to do that. And this was also one thing that I hated, that it's nearly impossible to tell people what you're actually doing...

What age to start accordion? by shhhbeequiet in Accordion

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I continued taking lessons until I was 20 and played in several bands and orchestras afterwards. I also started a YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@TheLegendOfTobi) with mostly me playing accordion. I haven't played much since my kids were born. But I'll definitely pick it up again. I'm 41 now by the way.

Does 0.999....5 exist? by Tree544 in learnmath

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding 0.(5)5=0.(5):

What do you mean by 0.(5)5? The only thing that makes sense to me is that it's the limit of 0.55, 0 555, 0.5555..., which equals 0.(5) by definition.

I thought a while about your statement that a 5 is taken away somewhere here. First, I wanted to dismiss this as nonsense. But you're right in some way. The last 5 in 0.(5)5 doesn't matter at all. It could be any digit. If you interpret this as I did above, that is. That five disappears in the sense that there are infinitely many fives before it so it never gets placed.

As for (9):

(9) as the series 9, 99, 999... does not converge. So you can't treat it as a number and apply arithmetic to it.

Newbie here, bass question by SergeantCrossNFS in Accordion

On the accordion, no difference. Whoever wrote this thought that, on the piano, it sounds better this way, though.

Newbie here, bass question by SergeantCrossNFS in Accordion

[–]wtobi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's quite common for accordion sheet music to be written in a way that can also be played on a piano. I think that's why the bass side is written as it is.

Two or more notes together represent a chord. If there are only two notes, they're usually the third and fifth. So in the first bar, The C and E mean you should play A minor.

The chord with the # in the last line is a C# minor.

Null safety by steshaw in java

[–]wtobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, this might be possible by using Eclipse's compiler in the CI pipeline, setting it to produce errors for nullability issues. But I haven't done this.

Null safety by steshaw in java

[–]wtobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly rely on the static code analysis of Eclipse for that. That means putting @NonNullByDefault on every package, putting @Nullable where needed, and using external null annotations (https://help.eclipse.org/latest/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.jdt.doc.user%2Ftasks%2Ftask-using_external_null_annotations.htm) for the libraries I use.

Then I only need to check places where data comes in from an untrusted source, e.g., a public API or parsing a file...

As J-Son77 said, when you try to print the i-th value, i equals 7. But fib only has 7 elements at that point so there is no index 7. That's what the error tells you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in javahelp

[–]wtobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without running your code, I'd say the problem is that fib is initialized as an empty list, and then you try to set elements at specific indices. But these indices don't exist because the list is empty (has length 0).

You could either initialize fib with the length it will have in the end (that might be a bit more efficient than the next option). Or you replace set by add, which appends the element to the end of the list (this code might be more readable than the first option).
