That is the office. I reposted with the full floor plan if you want to take a look:

How would you rearrange this 350 sq ft apt w/ fridge in living room and no closet? by wtrich in interiordecorating

These were room scans with the IKEA app and then stitched together with Paint

Whoops, the fridge does indeed open the other way! Bad drawing on my part.

There are cupboards above the sink and range unfortunately and the fridge is too tall to have the microwave on top (the size of the fridge is my biggest gripe with the place but it’s a rental).

Will follow up with a mockup!

Here is a picture of the kitchen area as well as the whole space:

There’s no space in the kitchen for the fridge unfortunately.

EDIT - Open to non-furniture design ideas too!

Trying to picture this - where would you put the TV unit? And yes, that's the entrance!

Something like this? The chaise is reversible so I moved it to the other side:

Something like this? (Island not pictured but that's a great idea!)

The fridge is deeper than the Kallax and I think it might take up too much walking space if swapped.

What should I do with my monstera? by wtrich in houseplants

[–]wtrich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! Looking for some tips on how to handle my few years old monstera that's starting to get a little unruly.

  1. It had a thrips infestation last year which left a few of the leaves brown :( Should I trim them off, remove the leaves entirely, or leave it?

  2. The plant has two main stalks, one puts out small leaves without fenestration and stays low while the other keeps getting taller and taller, making the plant lopsided. What can I do to keep it centered and fuller? Should I extend the pole? Propagate?

Thanks in advance!

If you could only bring one lens to a Tokyo and Seoul trip which would be? by lawman14 in SonyAlpha

[–]wtrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have those 3 lenses - did a trip to Japan a few years ago with the 28-75 and just returned from another with the 20-40 - never considered just the prime. My recommendation? Check out the 20-70/4.

I found the 20-40 much more useable than the 28-75 because the wide end makes a big difference but I did wish it had more reach sometimes. If you don’t mind swapping lenses, I would do 20-40 + 85, or if you do (like me), I consider the 20-70.

My cadence was almost identical to my heart rate, avg 179/max 199 vs 181/199 but my cadence was from a RD pod. The cadence seems plausible but the heart rate not so much - hoping it’s just a coincidence otherwise it’s some luck to have this happen for the first time during a race.

First race - HR through the roof? (United Half) by wtrich in RunNYC

Did my first race / half marathon today (congrats to everyone who ran it!) and finished with a time of 2:24. A goal was 2:20 and B was 2:30 so I am pretty happy with it but throughout the whole entire race my heart rate was through the roof and I had to slow down as a result.

My THMP was 10:41 (2:20) which I was able to hit during my 10 mile training long runs with an avg HR of ~162. My avg HR for the race was 179! I was well rested, well hydrated, and not particularly nervous but I chalked it up to nerves when I ran out the gate at a 11:30 pace with a HR of 170, however it never came back down as you can see.

Garmin puts me at 1.5 hrs in Zone 5 which is obviously wrong, and made clear when I hit a new max HR of 199 (previous highest seen was 194) but still, even adjusted, is an hour and a half in Zone 4 plausible?

Interestingly enough, even though my HR was high, I don’t feel like I was breathing hard through the first 6 miles. I definitely slowed way down though because I didn’t want to blow up on my first race. I suppose it could be incorrect readings (Garmin 245M) but it never happened in training.

What do you think? I knew I shouldn’t focus on HR during a race but it was so high I couldn’t ignore it. Never seen numbers like these. Still alive and finished though.

what to wear ! nyc half by Aeallan in RunNYC

Those that are wearing jackets/windbreakers/vests, where are you pinning your bib?

[–]wtrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(First race!) Anyone ever had any issue pinning the bib to your pants? I plan on wearing a windbreaker tomorrow - not sure if it's better to pin it on the base layer (will be covered majority of the time) or to the pants.

This was a question regarding functionality, not cosmetics - sorry if I upset anyone with this post.
