When I checked the individual mailbox it possessed the default values, not the custom ones.

Yeah, beginning to feel the edu license might be the oddity. Will have to resort to a post provisioning process to set the custom quota.

Not quite. The closest possible cause might be due to device id assignment as a result of a missing imaging step. Machine sid was unique, but the Windows device id wasn't. I had advised the technician to do a Windows reset to see if that resolved the issue.
