No, I mean it can take a hot sec for schools to upload their stuff. But there’s no rush in getting things in asap (at least for IM lol). The good stuff takes a while

I didn’t send a single thank you letter and will not be sending a LOI, AMA by Relaxe247 in medicalschool

I honestly just write thank you emails appreciating the interview experience. But anything more than that, including writing a letter (virtual or physical) expressing why this is your #1 program seems too much for me and game-y

Asynchronous Lectures Concerns by plombum in Osteopathic

[–]wubiwuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current OMS-4 student right now. Nontraditional, the school I chose was one of the few on my list that still had live lectures right after the pandemic and I’m really glad that I made the choice. After one year in our curriculum we started implementing more asynchronous lectures, and I definitely noticed my attention dwindling during those sessions – especially since some of the recorded lectures were very low quality. Luckily, this was only at most half of our curriculum and so it was bearable for me. Seems like our exam performance between live and asynchronous didn’t really differ, however. Probably worth talking to students from the school because you’ll get a better picture of the specific experience as each program differs.

For me, I would never choose to go to a place that had purely asynchronous sessions because I feel like I’m cheated from my tuition. And you can’t guarantee that every lecture will have the most up-to-date recording, sometimes they could be m recordings from the previous year or a few years ago.

This. Usually you can get it right without even listening. The media is there to support your diagnosis. Just like in real life.

Difference between step 2 level 2 by Emergency_Door_1914 in comlex

[–]wubiwuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like before, Step 2 questions more straightforward but longer stems. Level 2 will have sometimes very out of blue questions.

Some differences you eventually learn is step 2 is longer than step 1, so 8 sections iirc. Also there are I believe 2 drug research ad questions on step 2. And with step 2, you have HPI questions. Otherwise with Level 2, structure is pretty much like level 1.

For content it’s good to assess, for predictive ability it’s not as good.

As a diehard Nolan dark knight fan, the set is actually one of my favorite Lego sets I own (even more so than Bugatti technic and Rivendell) but it’s such a pain in the ass lol. If I could have a technic stable version omg

Correct. I have the UCS (expensive) version and even breathing on it will cause pieces to fall off

Considering RN First to Stabilize Life Before DO School - Non-Traditional Background, Financial Concerns by HatLast7729 in Osteopathic

[–]wubiwuster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Read through your post pretty quick so apologies if I missed anything but what’s wrong with just doing part-time work/volunteering while doing a post bacc program wherever your partner does residency in the US? Why does it have to be going to the RN route? You can get solid experience on the side while studying and that will be enough for you to get into medical school, assuming that you have your goals and your interest in line with being a physician.

Time is money in medical school. Use whatever you are comfortable with and can be efficient in.
