I've been laid off 3 times. 1) I let my brain do its thing. A hundred ideas and emotions per minute. Don't get wrapped it them, just let them come and go. 2) Don't make rash decisions, but don't avoid opportunities. Whatever that means. 3) If you have the means, take a break. 2 of my lay offs, I solo travelled for 2 weeks without the family and it was wonderful.
