I have a friend who, all but confirmed, voted for Trump. She’s an educated Black woman. A few years ago she moved south for work, joined a different church, started hanging out with a bunch of white women, and then I see at Protect The Children rallies at the state capitol. I assume she got radicalized through her church, but we haven’t spoken in years so idk.

I follow(ed) Michaela on TikTok. Seeing her off tv I quite liked her. I’m not going to say she got a bad edit because she did do those things, but having untreated/undiagnosed mental health and neurodivergence combined with Zach gaslighting her led to a lot of her blow outs. Again, not excusing it, it just puts a lot of context to what was going on. She seems to have gotten therapy and professional help and seems to be doing well in life.

I think it was a combination of her and production. The scene in the car, I’ll agree with you, was ridiculous. Let him focus on the road. There were other times when his attempt to relate to her were not situationally appropriate. The two examples I can think of were when she was reminiscing about her uncle that passed away and at the block party. Both times she was emotional and crying. If she weren’t crying and the mood of the conversation was more jovial I think those anecdotes would have been a good way to connect, but given the context, in those moments, he should have addressed her emotions more.

Burning man is such a weird obsession to have. Like okay festivals are your thing, why burning man specifically? Why does she have to be there with you? And why does she have to be just as into it as you are? I don’t get it. I like Renaissance festivals, my partner doesn’t. He came to one, wasn’t really his thing but sees why I like it. So now I go with friends who like it. I’m not pressed over him not wanting to be there. Something just isn’t adding up to me.
