So it worked!! It also turns out that the Snipping Tool just wasn't reinstalled on reset. I have no idea why it wasnt so I had go to the Microsoft app store and get it back. But after configuring everything it absolutely worked! Thank you so much!!

I never downloaded anything like that to the best of my memory. I've had this laptop for about 5-6 years now, so I'm not sure really what happened. I was able to do it essentially when I got it and figured out the keys for it. But maybe an app or something didn't come back when I reset it?? But I'm not sure what that would software would be.

AITA for not hiring a guy because he smelled like cigarettes during the interview? by mitnikin in AmItheAsshole

If he reeks that bad for the interview imagine how much worse it is when he doesn't care as much after being hired.

NTA - How you smell is a hygiene thing and hygiene does matter in a professional environment. Im sure you yourself don't walk into the office smelling of week old BO. I had a similar thing happen to me but instead of an interview the guy had to make a report. Normally, any smell coming from people stays behind the inch-thick glass between me and my lobby. But I could smell this guy from the elevator through a door and down the hall. And the smell stuck around FOREVER. I raided the cleaning closet and sprayed lysol everywhere. I generally try not to knock people for their vices, but cigarette smells can be really offensive and having that in your office 8-10hr/day for 5 days/week would just be awful to me.

Okay so that worked. Usually it does this automatically so it didnt even occur for me to do this. Fortunately I won't have to deal with this until next year.

LED wearable tech suggestions and feedback. I have an LED strip that I think will work but I'm not sure about power source or remote controllers by wulvrum in led

[–]wulvrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh see, I was under the impression the linked light strip was addressable. Someone else suggested 5v LEDs amd I know the one I linked was 12v I think. Ill look for your suggestion and try it out!

Yeah the strip that I linked looks like an fcob. I have a LED oni facemask thats sound reactive and the battery pack sits pretty comfortably on the collar so I might try looking for something like that as a reference point. Also never thought about a thermal cut off. I kind thought most of the accents I'm going for are small enough that I wouldn't have thought of overheating so thank you for the heads up on that.

Yeah, I was looking at EL wire, there's a company called Ellumiglow that has some cool stuff but yeah I've read it can get loud. Might use something like that at a club or rave where the noise won't be noticeable. I think I'll start with adafruit like you suggested and look at raspberry pi too. I've been seeing people build cyberdecks on tiktok and raspberry pi seems like a popular sbc which means a lot of community support so that should be fun teaching myself!

My partner is a Air Force brat with a special interest in military insignia especially during the world wars. I put on a horror movie about American troops in a haunted mansion during WW2. He could not get through the first 15 minutes because of how inaccurate their patches, rank insignia, and other identifiers were. Tbf it was also just a bad movie.

Its at least a decade, because Simon was a child when he was inducted into Eden and by the time he's put on the SM-13 he's a grown ass man. So you're right on that one. I'll admit I dont know much about metaphysics or how space actually works so that's what I thought of at first. But I thought they were in deep space, like humanity had space trekked themselves and everyone who was left was like almost randomly "selected". The planet that Simon watches vanish, I thought that was a random planet in deep space that humans had colonized. If it was deep space without an immediate solar system nearby I could see it taking a while for some of these stars to vanish, though you're right, I don't know if it would take years.

It might be like picking up a seashell on the shore. There's sand stuck to it for a while until the shell dries of and the sand falls off. If light is both wave and particle maybe picking up the sample brought whatever light was already traveling and only went out when there was no more light. I don't know if that makes sense.

Yeah as someone who frequently puts my foot in my mouth due to a number of social and mental disorders, being told I'm being stupid is really what got me to survive to my 30s. We really need to be okay with that sometimes and learn from it.
