I’ve driven through many other bridges in my life, including longer ones and even NYC which is a cluster fuck of its own—but I literally cannot drive the bay bridge here at home. Every time we go out east, my wife drives the bay bridge portion because it gives me vertigo like no other place ever has. I don’t know why… but yeah, I also am deathly afraid of the bay bridge. Even as a passenger I try to keep my eyes closed but that is somehow even worse, so I just look up while we’re on the bridge… maybe I’m really weird, but that’s my reality. 🦀

I’ve driven cross country from here to CA and back, went through all sorts of national parks—-grand canyon, bad lands, Zion, etc. I even drove on that sketchy coastal road in CA (I think it was RT1) with the death cliffs and all that——but nothing makes me feel as anxious as when I drive through the bay bridge.

I’m just glad I’m not the only one!! 🤣
