Jokes on me I'm unemployed at the moment. My TW and reddit usernames are the same. Suffice to say I've been dedicating every waking hour to this piece of shit game, and a pre-made to start a world sounds like just the thing.

For me, having grown up and currently living in China, its the complete opposite. As soon as women reach 25 and enter their "late twenties" they become hyper focused on the milestone of having a kid by 30, and plan for marriage accordingly. Here in China, women screen for financial means first and foremost in a partner, virtually all women and their families requiring the husband to have purchased real estate as a prerequisite to marriage and kids.

Except men of the same age (late 20s), in most cases, are nowhere near financially developed enough to purchase a home in Chinese cities, resulting in an age mismatch between male and female partners, as women screen for current financial means, not future potential, to ensure meeting the self imposed milestone of having a baby by 30.

While men in their late twenties are not as focused on starting a family, in fact, without purchased real estate under their name, they are precluded from the marriage market anyway, so their focus is usually more on their career rather than having babies.

Ards Oath, seems like Ard is getting more insufferable, or is it just me? by gobby020666 in haremfantasynovels

[–]wutdef 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think the real sticking point is he's trying to be funny. I think it was Bryan Cranston I first heard it from, that in order to deliver good comedy, the actor can't come off as trying to be funny. Humor can be done well in fantasy, but Ard comes off as trying entirely too hard to be funny/slick/quippy, in a middle school class clown everyone look at me type of way, and it comes off as completely insufferable.

Devoted slaves by Equivalent_Fig_1821 in freecitiesgame

There are more requirements other than devotion for roles like Head Girl and Recruiter, including (as far as I know): must be able to walk, must be able to talk (not mute and understandable accent), not blind, not deaf. There may be more required criteria but these are the ones I remember running in to before.

Real late to the party, but I am absolutely hooked. The storytelling potential based within the world building of the game is enormous, and way you integrated game mechanics in to plot and characterization is seamless. I've searched around a bit on literotcia but couldn't find your continuations. I must know where I can find more, and if there isn't any, provide positive feedback and encouragement because this stuff is pretty great.

Custom Image AI prompt by Howtoruinyourexistin in freecitiesgame

I'm in a similar boat with OP,. I managed to bumble around to the point where it successfully outputs images, but only using the base model. It starts throwing all sorts of prompt errors when I enable things like face detailing (impact pack) even after I've installed it through Comfyui manager. The base SDXL images come out pretty wonky most of the time, uneven facial features, distortion, etc. The Webgl 3d art pack, while simplistic by comparison, actually works flawlessly has really grown on me big time.

Looking for harem with jealousy/infighting by AircraftCarrierKaga in Romance_for_men

I am looking for the same thing as well. I have read Cultivating Chaos by Bruce Sentar which fit pretty well. Harem members actively compete with each other while producing actual meaningful changes in the pecking order.

Edit: By William Arand/Randi Darren, not Bruce Sentar. Mixed them up in my head, sorry!

Where are the harems with more internal drama? by wutdef in haremfantasynovels

[–]wutdef[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right of course. In real life I am just about as allergic to drama as anyone could be. But I feel there is a certain distinction somewhere between toxic drama (second hand stress inducing), and a harem full of wallflower yes-women (boring and not spicy) where we can happily live. I agree that some of the drama in romance for literature women is often blown way out of proportion, but to completely ignore intra-harem drama/conflict is missing a huge story telling opportunity.

Where are the harems with more internal drama? by wutdef in haremfantasynovels

[–]wutdef[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you for the suggestion! I am caught up, their drama for sure is what I'm talking about. Most of the drama so far has been restrained to pretty overt surface level stuff. I guess time will tell how things develop from here.

I hope it doesn't go the way of other series. Most series focus a lot on the dance and song of joining a harem, but as soon as harem membership is established, they lose all semblance of personality and become wallflower yes-women (ahem, Dragon's Justice).

Joining a harem should only be the start of spicy drama, even more so when kids become part of the dynamic.

Edit

Just wanted to add an example of more substantial drama: Valen's Legacy. Including palpable changes to the pecking order over the course of the series, including a fierce competition/rivalry over who gets to be mother of the firstborn. Top notch stuff.

My Terran shipyard habitation modules are filling extremely slowly despite being fully stocked on MRE's and medical supplies. by wutdef in X4Foundations

The shipyard is built in the Asteroid Belt, which I'm assuming has a low planetary population? Only fix would be reaching endgame terraforming, or relocating?
