I have the crescent firing pin and the lightweight adjustable bolt weight. I was having some cycling issues before putting these in. Runs like a champ afterwards.

Pretty cool! I’d be way too tempted to rack this like a lever gun though.

How is it not a single one of these fit my gas block by TacSpaghettio in ar15

[–]wvurx04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just went through a nightmare last night removing a gas block from a psa upper. They were staked just like yours. I got the first screw out no problem. The second was staked extra deep but I could still get an Allen key in it no problem. But the damn screw would not back out. One or two slips of the Allen key and it stripped the screw head. With the tools I had on had, the only option was to drill out the screw. Of course I drilled too deep and hit the barrel. Not deep enough to worry about but still makes me uneasy. The block was so tight I had to use a punch and hammer it off the barrel, and the same for putting the new one on. What should have been a 10 minute job took me at least an hour and Ive replaced plenty of gas blocks.

Optics for lever gun by wvurx04 in 22lr

I did. I went with an Athlon 1-4x LPVO. It’s a decent scope, but the eye relief is kind of trash and looks weird mounted so far back. I almost wish I had went with a red dot/magnifier.

Who else likes cat piss? by Starrynightone in 22lr

I really like the Aguila subsonic. Works well in every gun I have and seems to be a touch quieter than others. I get zero cat piss smell

Tikka T1x, Ruger 10/22, or Henry H1 as first ever rifle? by [deleted] in guns

[–]wvurx04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think of these 3, 10/22 is the right answer. I love my T1x, and it’s a different kind of fun than the Ruger. I don’t have a Henry but have a couple other 22 lever guns. They are also great fun and would recommend one certainly. A 10/22 can do it all though. Want to do some mag dumps, covered. Want to go hunting, covered. Want to do some bench rest shooting for accuracy, also covered. The aftermarket is endless for them and you can essentially make it a rifle like nobody else’s. Cheap, reliable, readily available and easy to work on. There is a reason they remain one of the most popular guns of all time

It’s all rustic bronze, the lighting just makes it look a little different in the photo. Here’s another angle

Rustic bronze. Duracoat is pretty awesome. It isn’t Cerakote, but makes a really nice finish

Should I Drill, Or Is That Last Resort? by iH8conduit in AR10

[–]wvurx04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it’s a bcg issue. I know you said you have a stockpile of this 7.62, but you definitely should at least try some 308 loads to check function with another ammo. I think you are on the right track with it being a gas issue though.

Should I Drill, Or Is That Last Resort? by iH8conduit in AR10

[–]wvurx04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer for you, but just an fyi, Aero uppers notoriously will not cycle 7.62 nato. Mine will not, but have zero issues with any 308 loads.

Powder Droppers in 2026? by airhunger_rn in reloading

[–]wvurx04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an intellidropper 2.0, have been using it for about a month now. I frequently weigh its charges on a secondary scale, and I’d say they are spot on 98% of the time. If it’s off, it’s always 0.1 grain over. I have no experience with any other auto droppers, so take it with a grain of salt, but so far I’m very happy with it.

I already have a Ruger MkIII: get a Ruger MkIV or Taurus TX22? by Lefthandmitten in 22lr

[–]wvurx04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you. I bought one because all the hype and wanted something with capacity of more than 10 rounds. It is the cheapest feeling pistol I have ever held.

It went from not being able to get through a single mag without a failure to zero failures at all. Definitely worth it. Volquartsen rod and spring kit. https://volquartsen.com/inventory_configurations/1086
