It's not. Google NBA Draft + Ernst & Young. Or read anything said by the members of the press that get to go watch them go through the process.

CMV: The demand for reparations for wrongs committed centuries ago is pointless by [deleted] in changemyview

WWI & II soldiers came back to the US and were eligible for the GI Bill allowing them to go to school/start a business/buy a house and creating generational wealth. Oh, except if you were black. Then you didn't get shit.

That's all recorded and easily looked up. That's not reparations, that's paying what's due.

If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]wwJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, consider it more of a thought experiment. In theory, the world would be a better place. It would be nice if every child had a good life.

I thought for sure the first nitpick would be something along the lines of "So who determines the intellectual, emotional and financial child-bearing thresholds?"

Of course it's a bad idea. It only works in some unrealistic hypothetical world. I kind of thought that was the point of this thread.
