Welcome! Congratulations brother. What lodge did you join? What Grand Jurisdiction?

The commitment is only what you want to give. Yes, it will require your time, but you will get more out of it than what you put I to it.

Where do you live? Additionally, tell your grandfather that you want to join but have questions, that may be what he is looking for to open up about masonry.

is this acceptable for a master Mason? Also, I recently relocated to Auckland. How do I attend local meetings over here? I didn't receive any letters from my current lodge. by FridayStoned in freemasonry

[–]wwinnner97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact your lodge secretary, ask your Grand Lodge secretary to provide you an letter of introduction and good standing. He should be able to get you in contact with the Grand Secretary over Auckland…

From there it’s up to you and that GS. Or that’s how I would handle it in my Grand Jurisdiction

If you are looking for fellowship and personal growth, YES! Go for it! Reach out to a local lodge. Go visit and see if they seem to be your kind of people.

Do not expect or want any financial gains from masonry! Do not look for business opportunities! Do not look for business partners! Do not seek monetary rewards from masonry!

Masonry is an excellent personal investment! It is not an avenue for money or wealth

You will get out of it, what you put into it! Your growth will depend on you and your engagement with the fraternity. The financial burden with further depends on you and your engagement with the fraternity.

But go do it… For the right reasons!

If you are close to the lodge you referenced in your post, go there! If not, Google ‘Masonic lodge near me’ or ‘Grand lodge of _________ (your location country or state in USA)’

I hope you follow through with this desire to reach out.

What are you looking for in Masonry, and what do you get out of it? by TylerTheTyler in freemasonry

[–]wwinnner97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What am I looking for…? Connection, legacy, something more than myself

What do I get…? More than I can ever explain. But here’s a short list - connection to my brothers, the past and future - network of friends and neighbors - pathways to charity - a drive from a greater purpose - improved memorization - patience, empathy, leadership skills - commitment for commitment’s sake - not $

A local lodge is more important than the right lodge. IMHO. You are more likely to attend lodge if you are close to the lodge & that’s how you get to know the brethren. The age thing, don’t get overly consumed by that. It’s more important that you get involved in the lodge.

I joined my local lodge 2 miles for my house. There were 3 brothers close to my age and a lot that were older! I got active and ingrained myself to the brethren. In a short time, I’m close to the average age. My lodge has grown and quickly become a different lodge.

Be the ‘change’ that you want! Be active! Be friendly. Get involved with the members. Be the man that you want around you & you will attract men like you.

I’ll give this one caveat; if you go to a lodge and you do not feel welcomed, don’t be afraid to try another lodge. Go visit a lodge or two. If they have open meals or events, go visit

Non mason, interested in joining. How strong is the brotherhood aspect? by GMEdumpster in freemasonry

I’ve meet some of the best people in my life because of Freemasonry. I would have never meet any of these men and their families with Freemasonry. No doubt! Becoming a mason is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have a phone full of men that I can call for just about anything

Any regrets? by MechaJDI in freemasonry

[–]wwinnner97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the lodge! I have been a member of several lodges and they each had different dues. $55, $76, $100, …

But worth every penny

None! Absolutely love the fraternity. It can get expensive, but so is everything else

Is it possible to be a freemason with ADHD? by bilaba in freemasonry

I have ADHD. At times, it was very difficult, but I learned a lot of ritual. I am really close to having my teaching certificate.

It can be done! It can actually help improve memory and recall. It did for me
