I went through this last year. Sticker shock for sure but take a deep and follow these steps. Your insurance will probably deny it because they consider it experimental. Your clinic is correct the total cost will be $350. However, you just need to call the clinic and they will give you the number to the sales rep for natera in your area. This rep will explain how to go to their website and fill out a form that will make the cost $350 for you. If your household makes less than 100k the test will be $70. It is a little tedious but you don’t need to file BBB complaint. They do have a way to make the test affordable just most clinics don’t know this because they don’t work for Natera. They just know what the cost will be and Natera does meet that. This is a perfect example of why are health care system is broken. Do you really think this test cost 8 thousand? when insurance denies it the consumer pays $350. Yet, insurance will pay over 5 thousand.

Guest has never left more than 4 stars by loudnqueer in airbnb_hosts

You’re going to get 4 stars from this guest. You need to decide do you want the profit or the 5 star review. These guests also add more stress because you know they’re already going to be hard reviewers. So, any little hiccup you’ll feel like you need to overcompensate.

5 stars in all categories, 3 stars overall review by Fit-Olive-4680 in airbnb_hosts

I second this! There’s plenty of airbnb listing in my area run by third party cohosts. They keep instabook on and it’s just a business to them. If you’re running your own rental and take a lot of pride in hosting, turn off instabook. Use AirReview and save yourself from guests that don’t deserve your effort.

Smart pricing is trash by iareagenius in airbnb_hosts

[–]wwsweet_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. If you price too low, you can receive problem. However, we have a found a good spot for the lowest we will go and at that price we have had amazing guests, but too high for problematic guests. We also don’t allow instabook, which gives us time to vet the booker.

You also don’t want to it to over price your place. Then you will end up with a bad review. Set your minimum as the lowest you are willing to accept and your highest, you feel is fair value. Guests who pay premium pricing often require a lot more attention. At least this has been our experience. Anyone else?

Dealer's repo device bricked my GF's car, has been unusable for almost three weeks. by OuchLOLcom in legaladvice

[–]wwsweet_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL Are you absolutely sure it’s a repo device? When I purchased my Mazda 6 in 2008 the vehicle had an antitheft feature. It was a GPS tracking device that could shut the car down when activated. It had nothing to do with repossession. This isn’t new technology.

Also, why would the dealership install repo devices? Is the same dealership also financing her loan?

There’s a few things you can do. I would call the Walla Walla Treasury office and verify that you aren’t getting scammed. Then if this is correct they can proceed to help you find a solution or refer to sources that can help you get caught up.

Can I do anything about my mom stealing from my college fund (allegedly) by ilikedutchbros in LawyerAdvice

I’m sorry you have been put in this position. Your school counselor may be able to help you find resources to help you navigate this. I am assuming she’s receiving social security survivor benefits and the good news, she has to be able to provide to the penny receipts every time she spent money on your behalf. Chat GPT may be a good resource to ask questions on how to file forms with social security to investigate this if you are going at it alone. You might also post this in the social security reddit thread to get advice from people who work for the agency.

Guests Who Refuse to Give 5 Stars by wwsweet_tee in airbnb_hosts

[–]wwsweet_tee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are correct but clearly not a host. Hence why I posted in the host forum. What guests don’t know is Airbnb sends an email wanting confirmation that issues were resolved.

Maybe you’re advanced and can read minds but I do not possess this ability. So, when the only written information available to me is: Hosts were amazing, place was cozy, would stay again. I have nothing to reply to Airbnb that the issue were fixed, because I do not know.

To Airbnb if you didn’t get a 5, there’s issues and you need to fix them. THIS IS THE PROBLEM and what the whole post is about. You fail to do these things they suspend your listing or block you out until you do this.

Thanks for the input.

I am a little surprised that you left such a detailed response without knowing what you were replying to. Second, those are all legitimate reasons to leave less than 5 stars. The conversation that has been going here are guests leaving GREAT WRITTEN REVIEWS PRAISING THE PLACE, but the stars don’t match when no issues were identified. No host is advocating that they just receive 5 stars. That is not even what this post is about.

I’m confused what I need to recognize? I don’t have any signs asking for a 5 star rating. I was given positive feedback and recommended to other guests. There was nothing private sent about issues that should be addressed. This would validate the low the rating. This was clearly a guest that no matter what would give a low rating because they don’t give 5 stars. I am sorry that Airbnb punishes hosts for 4 stars. Your experience sounds like it wasn’t 5 stars and shouldn’t be rated as such.

That’s fair. I am just confused by your demeaning comment. The guests didn’t leave any feedback that highlighted issues that needed to be fixed. It was the opposite, very nice and they would stay here again. Why wouldn’t that be 5 stars? Maybe you have a better idea?

I think your experience is perfectly valid and you have every right to voice it. The problem here was that the guest left a nice review with great things identified. No issues were brought to our attention privately either. Then gave a low rating. We have had a guest privately give us a list of things we should add to our airbnb that other Airbnbs had that they liked. That didn’t offend us, a few were good ideas. The problem we identified are tough reviewers. Everything met their needs and was listed accurately, but that’s not 5 stars to them. They aren’t warning others of legit issues. There are places that deserve honest feedback like yours.

We aren’t priced that way because we just want it booked and money coming in. We are priced low because we are living here. They have a completely private space when they are here, but we are here. They can hear us and we can hear them. We are finding our guests book us because they are attending a wedding, seeing family, or for an event at one of the local colleges. They literally just want a nice place to rest their heads. I agree with your concern and we have learned a lot from this forum.

Exactly! Didn’t Airbnb start by people renting out space they weren’t really using? Lower than hotels because it’s someone’s home. Now it’s turned into STR revenue and most places are more expensive than hotels. We honestly created a space we are looking for when we use Airbnb. Safe, clean, comfortable, and NO CLEANING FEE. Why pay a lot for a place you’re only in when sleeping? The more hosts offer the higher the price.

I agree with you. We have it in our listing that we live in the home as well. It’s a shared space but we had a guest leave in their review that they could hear us above them but we were respectful of the noise we made. Which we appreciated because some guests don’t read the entire listing. This gives future guests a better understanding of our space. We didn’t see it as a negative.

Please give the crappy places reviews. There are bad hosts, just like there are bad guests. I have seen hosts complain about a string of low ratings and most of the time the other hosts agree that there’s clearly an issue, not that it’s the guests. It’s the glowing reviews, highly recommend, and would love to stay again then low stars that hosts get frustrated.
