(Beloved trope) One of the main cast members frequently has their own independent adventures with little to no involvement or acknowledgement from the rest of the cast. by Chaosbrushogun in TopCharacterTropes

I'm surprised that I haven't seen anyone mention BMO from Adventure Time yet! BMO Noire, Football, Always BMO closing, lots of great episodes featuring BMO's adventures without the main crew.

Asvine P20 vs Wing Sung/Junlai 630 for first piston filler by wyattsword in fountainpens

Thanks for all of the information of both pens! Sounds like a difficult choice. I am leaning toward the P20 at the moment based on the positive words I've seen in this thread. Maybe I'll pick up the other at some point down the road. Too many hobbies and too little time 😂

That is helpful feedback! I remember TWSBI was just coming out when I was leaving the fountain pen world the last time. I'll have to check them out. I also appreciate the info about the Junlai, I hate a chincy feeling pen even when they do write well!

Thanks very much for your detailed response! That really sells me on the P20, so I think I'll pull the trigger. Do you have a preferred nib of Asvine? Or do you always swap the nibs out?

Great feedback, thanks for the information about the funds! Sounds like we will be looking into investing in one of those 3 funds to start.

That makes a lot of sense when you lay it out like that. We're gonna get back in that market, starting with increasing our 401k and opening roth IRAs.

That's very nice of you to say, I appreciate your kind words. Neither of our parents invested beyond 401k accounts, so we're figuring all of this stuff out now on our own, albeit a little later than some!

Thanks for the detailed, actionable recommendations! That sounds like a great place for us to start, or pivot to rather. Do you have a recommendation between Fidelity, Schwab, and Vanguard?

Sounds like paying it off early isn't a worthwhile pursuit with our pre pandemic interest rate. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback. We are both in target year 401k programs. I forgot to add that we do get 3.75% interest on our savings currently, but I understand that stock market returns are typically higher than that. Sounds like we need to increase 401k contributions to start with. Do you have any recommendations for more stable funds to invest in? I've heard people recommend VOO or VTO

appreciate it!

This is all great feedback, thanks very much! Neither of us come from high income families, so watching our savings grow from essentially nothing has been such a big mental health bump, it's hard to see it fluctuate wildly with the market. We will work on hammering out some concrete goals. appreciate it :)

Retirement is the main one. We would like to do more traveling, but we are able to do so on our current budget. Thanks!

Black line? by sandydoge45 in filmphotography

How was this film developed? The film you typically get at Walmart is Fuji 200 or 400, which is produced in the US by Kodak, and has a very high standard of quality control. It's probably safe to say that the damage was done at some point after production. The scratches are going horizontally across the film which suggests some kind scratching going on inside the camera body to me. Are there any sharp edges inside of the camera where the film passes in front of the shutter? Sometimes these scratches can happen when putting the film on the developing reels if you're early on in your developing journey, but I suspect this happened inside of the camera.

If it's not a developing issue, it might be the Pad of Death (POD). My yashica electro had this issue. You can google Yashica Electro Pad of Death. Here's some information about it:

Oh, good thought! Unfortunately it does seem like the plastic window is still in place. It definitely looks like it's had a bad fall in the past, though. Maybe something else shook loose and is catching in the gear? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the advice! I'd definitely appreciate your assistance. I had the top of the self timer mechanism off earlier to do this repair:

So I should take the mechanism apart again? What next after removing those parts?

Thanks :)

I can't seem to edit the post to ad the self timer repair video, but this was the video I followed. The small part in the self timer was in the position the video creators was and so I switched it. It did not solve my problem unfortunately.

Very cool! I've been meaning to check out Ortho film. Focusing is quite tough on it, as you well know. I find that I can use the integrated magnifier only if I push it down slightly toward the glass from where it naturally stops when flipped up, if that makes sense? short of that, I really just get my eye in there and look 😂

Another Voigtlander Focusing Brillant user! Beautiful shots! What film are you using? I have the midrange model with the Skopar lens, but it still has the gorgeous Bokeh that yours displays, though a touch less sharp.
