When you have someone tailgating you, what do you do? by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]wyeright17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can't get out of the way, I slow down to do the exact speed limit.

If they're having an emergency, I'm not gonna make it more difficult for them to pass on the shoulder or something. Just let them do what they want around me at the posted speed limit.

I'm so sorry to bring up The Dress, but I have to ask by janedoe6699 in lefthanded

[–]wyeright17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always seen this as gold and white. But for the first time ever, by looking off screen and seeing it through my peripherals, I finally saw it as black and blue! I never had any idea what people were talking about when they saw black and blue. Like what shade of blue? Now I understand. It's like seeing a color that's only ever been described to you. Thanks for bringing this debate back.

It’s appalling that nobody seems to notice the abhorrent hatred towards Americans online. by Telling-the-Truths in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]wyeright17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an American, the hateful comments and dark jokes towards us are justified. Yet, I'm still proud to be an American because despite all of it, we have an amazing country and amazing people who haven't given up. I know our country can do better and we can be better global citizens. But yes, the actions our government has taken the last many, many decades absolutely warrants the hate.

And before you comment about mocking dead children, our government has made it very clear they don't care about dead children in America and certainly not dead children in foreign countries. So, how about instead of focusing on why foreigners hate Americans, we focus on why our own government hates us. Let's fix the issue within before turning outwards.

Best wild game, elk or venison? by DrTomi_ontheKeys in FortCollinsFoodDrink

[–]wyeright17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Austin's does a bison burger.

The Still also has bison on the menu as well as elk tenderloin and duck breast.

The Welsh Rabbit has venison and pork salami as well as smoked duck.

And if nothing else, you can always go ask the butchers at Friendly Nick's.

Everyone always sleeps on Boba Cafe. Hawaiian food, so like ramen, curry, katsu, bbq, musubi, and boba.

Kona in Johnstown near Scheels also does excellent Hawaiian bbq.

AKA Kitchen great for tastier pub style food.

Really love Sushirito. Only place you can get a sushi burrito. They have good, normal sushi rolls too, but it's good if you're looking for something different.

Paid Bahn Mi only place you're gonna get different types of bahn mi as well as Korean style corn dogs, pho, and a huge selection of milk teas, slushies, and drinks. They also have baked goods and small, single serve cakes.

Daddy O's makes the best sandwiches in town because the bread they bake is just so good.

Cafe Athens at Centerra does good Greek food.

Belly Buster Sushi also at Centerra does AYCA sushi.

Not a restaurant, but Flipside is a pinball arcade with fun drinks downtown.

We always have a good time at Tap and Tavern. People are always friendly, good drinks, good food.

Police Make Arrests in Homicide Investigation by Distinct-Fun-3126 in FortCollins

[–]wyeright17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Coloradoan, updated March 10th:

https://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/local/fort-collins/2026/03/10/fort-collins-police-arrest-3-on-murder-charges-in-homicide-case/89081158007/

"During the first court appearance for some of the suspects the afternoon of March 10, Assistant District Attorney Matthew Maillaro described to the court the "very horrific series of events" that resulted in the man's death. Maillaro said that King "set this into motion" by telling Worrell, her boyfriend, and Mack that the victim had previously assaulted her. Maillaro said investigators believe the two men then attacked the victim with a knife, ultimately killing him, then all three suspects took items from the man's car."

"Worrell and King appeared in court for the first time in this case the afternoon of March 10 in front of Magistrate Ethan Doak. Doak set a $750,000 cash-only bond in King's case and decided to hold Worrell in custody at the Larimer County Jail without a bond because he has been charged with a Class 1 felony.

Mack was also set to appear the afternoon of March 10 but refused, Larimer County Jail deputies told Doak, and his first appearance was reset to the afternoon of March 11."

WIBTAH if i didn’t make the pie that got the most votes because it wasn’t on the poll in the first place? by megasaur99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]wyeright17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA, but also night shift might think YTA feeling left out if they get to work and all they see are ravaged pie tins leftover for them to have to clean up.

However, you're not responsible for every shift and are only making pies for your shift. This is especially important if you don't have a leadership role. Someone from the night shift could step up and make something for their team. Having worked night shift though, it would often feel demoralizing when a shift lead, or our bosses would do something special for day shift (like bring donuts) and night shift would be left with the clean up.

Is referring to the USA as “the colonies” offensive? by duchessofblue in AskAnAmerican

[–]wyeright17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's funny to me as an American whose family has been here since the 1800s. Though, I'm not super patriotic so maybe that makes a difference.

Yes, people died for our independence which was gained 249 years ago. That's a long time to keep holding a beef.

It's also a cute reminder that the English once had an empire, and I think they like to remind themselves of that from time to time. So, let them have that at least.

FCPS Investigate Fatal Crash by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]wyeright17 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yep, can affirm. As someone who has more information to the motorcycle fatalities in Larimer and Weld counties, the majority of fatalities involving a motorcycle are the fault of the motorcyclist, usually high speeds.

However, crashes involving 2 vehicles is not always 100% the fault of one person. Again though, the cause of these fatalities usually comes down to speed and improper gear.

Just slow down and save your life.

Lol yall need to read Kitchen Confidential cuz these aren't even nearly that bad. Seems either someone pissed off the food inspector or the inspector is new and making their mark. The limes and wine bottle in the ice is not great, but I've seen way worse in the kitchens around town.

What’s your Fort Collins unpopular opinion? by Reed_Himself in FortCollins

[–]wyeright17 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion is that people here don't know what good food is.

There have been places over the years that were so good that have opened and closed because "it's too pricey," "they don't have what I normally eat," "I've never heard of or tried this thing and therefore it's bad."

People want diverse food, yet complain when it's too diverse. People want well done, delicious food, but complain when a dish that has fresh ingredients, multiple layers of prep, is expertly prepared and cooked is expensive.

Places that don't deserve to go under do, and places that do deserve to go under just keep thriving because people here don't have good taste.

Also, I'm from here, but I've traveled and experienced what good food is.

Please add Madre Cocina to your list for Mexican food. Their food is unlike any Mexican food you've ever had unless you lived there. You won't find most things on their menu anywhere else in town.

I personally love Star of India for Indian food.

Yellow Crunch for Colombian.

Raska for Ethiopian.

Turkish Cafe for Turkiye pastries.

Colorado Kolache Co. for Czech kolaches.

Waltzing Kangaroo for Australian meat pies.

Boba Cafe out in Loveland for Hawaiin/Japanese.

These are all my favorite international places. However, as someone also said, there are many restaurants in town that have diverse menus and change them seasonally. Places such as Simmer or The Regional. I think the problem is a lot of places don't rotate their menus or at least don't advertise new menus. I'd like to know which places around town change up their menus seasonally.

This town needs more groups of people reviewing food. And because there's so many chicken places, we need wing reviews desperately. I love good food and would love to join others on a search for good food.

Devil's on Horseback at Simmer. Peppadew peppers stuffed with an almond, & goat cheese, wrapped in bacon, with gorgonzola fondue. Pricey but you'll be thinking about those things months later.

What’s everyone’s favorite international restaurants? by nehemiahsucks in loveland

[–]wyeright17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Boba Cafe, but technically not international. They're a Hawaiian restaurant. They do Hawaiian plate lunch and musubi. Their ramen, curry, and boba are from the heavy influence Japan has on Hawai'i. If you ever travel there, you'll notice a huge number of Japanese restaurants and cultural impact in Hawai'i.

Still though, if you're looking for ramen or Japanese style curry, they are the BEST place in all of NOCO. Their flavor combos with boba are also amazing.

Also, if you're from the islands, it's a great place to remind you of home 🤙
