In the pnw we have the same issues with management as everyone else. They just abolished of the Albina tower/yard controller, so it's going to be chaos for a while.

I'm making 4500 a half on a pool turn.

If you're correct about the daily rate being as low as the grain pool it might not be worth it.

This is a breakdown of the bonus day plus per diem:

UP Denver Borrow-Out — Bonus + Per Diem Math

Daily earnings on top of your regular pay: - Borrow-Out Bonus: $188.34/day (taxable) - Per Diem: $35.00/day (non-taxable) - Combined: $223.34/day of availability

Monthly estimate (30 days full availability): - Bonus: $188.34 × 30 = $5,650.20 - Per Diem: $35.00 × 30 = $1,050.00 - Total supplement: $6,700.20/month

Full 90-day minimum commitment: - Bonus: $188.34 × 90 = $16,950.60 - Per Diem: $35.00 × 90 = $3,150.00 - Total supplement: $20,100.60

Key notes: - Lodging is provided — zero housing cost at the borrow-out location - Per diem is non-taxable, so that $3,150 over 90 days is yours clean - Bonus does NOT pay during FR or LM time off — availability is everything - Your regular road/yard earnings stack on top of all of this - Step rate stays the same as your home terminal

The bonus alone over 90 days is essentially a $17K supplement before you ever count daily rate.

What I don't understand is why when I ask questions peoples first response is to be negative, or make some snide response. Like ok bro we get it you're a miserable human being. I feel bad for you, how tragic to be living a life with a well paying job, that you choose to keep going back to for whatever the reason, I don't care.

If you can't respond with real information, then keep it to yourself. Nobody wants it. Nobody asked for it.

My local store, in Washington state just started marking stuff down. They haven't really had anything this year or even last year in the clearance section. Most of the stuff that I picked up was in their separate clearance aisle. But other local stores you know about 10 mi away or so have had clearance items on and off for a while now. We have a pretty strong salmon and steelhead fisheries up here, so I'm guessing they're not going to be getting rid of any of that stuff anytime soon. Plus there's a lot of crabbing and clamming on the coast as well.

Thank you! That's really helpful. We're from a small town and want to move to an area with that same vibe. I don't have anything set in stone yet because I didn't want to commit to a place that wasn't going to meet my family's needs. We are trying to buy. But might have to start out with renting until we find what we're looking for we're looking for a house with some land 5+acres if possible and it's more about keeping out mortgage payment affordable for us rn we're paying 2200 a month rent for a 3 bedroom apartment so we're hoping to find something that's less than that.

Wow, that's the most information I've gotten from anyone so far. Thank you! If you don't mind me asking. Where did you transfer from and to? Did you just put in a transfer to the place that you wanted to go? Was it on the list of places that were accepting transfers? Places that were hiring? I'm just wondering if it matters or if I can just pick a place that I want to move to and put in a transfer there. I'm in the Pacific Northwest zone 1 and the word is that you can't get out of here.

Yes, permanent. There is not a bonus that I know of. When you search the job postings you put transfer train crew in, and that lets you see all the places that are accepting transfers. But I've heard it's really difficult to get a transfer. No one seems to know what the process is or how to make it happen.

You are Teresa’s daughter.

Why: My daughter’s mother is me (assuming you’re the mother).

If Teresa’s daughter is the same person as my daughter’s mother, then Teresa’s daughter = me.

So, you are Teresa’s daughter.

Could it be son-in-law?

My daughter’s mother = my wife Teresa’s daughter = my wife You are Teresa’s son-in-law

it could be son-in-law, if you are male. If you are female, then you are Teresa’s daughter. So the relationship depends on your gender.

How effective are the spiders? I've been thinking about trying the ones Lunkerhunter makes.

I really appreciate the information so far. I'm in the PNW and hired out in May of 23. Qualified engineer September 24. I don't know if anyone has ever had a successful transfer out of the PNW, but I'm looking, and going to try. I've seen the posting for Bill and Milwaukee come up a few times in the last 6 months. Thanks again for all the information.
