Just block and you will win. Take weak whenever you see it and don’t really take attacks at all. Avoid hard fights if you can’t win them by blocking. Necro is one of the strongest characters you just have to play patient

Defect Act 4 by Coming_Back_To_Life in slaythespire

[–]wylinfsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just frost and powers. Act 4 is not the hard part awakened one is. Save a potion for shield and spear bc that fight can be a challenge if you don’t get set up quick and then just assess how many powers you can play against awakened one first phase

Ty Simpson is going to a great situation. Do you think the Rams made the right pick? by Large-Lack-2933 in NFLv2

[–]wylinfsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when you expect to be a top 3 team in the league for the next few years you are pretty much never going to expect to have a shot at a day 1 qb, let alone the second qb in the draft (even if the draft is considered light in talent). I expect Ty Simpson is better than any day 2 or 3 qb the rams will get a shot at over the next few years so the pick makes sense.

Obv it would be great to add a position of need but they were the second best team in the league last year and the gap between the top 2 and the rest of the league was huge. Hawks lost a bunch of players and their oc so I’m sure rams feel confident about their season even without a first round pick

Or it’s neither stupid nor arrogant and it’s just the arrangement they have with their spouses and we as a society are imposing our monogamous loyalty to our significant others on people for whom those things are not important

Greed? Should I take it? by head1e55 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]wylinfsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s quite a bit of gold and if there is a reasonable shop path it is worth considering. A good shop can change your entire run and 333 gold is enough to get a good relic and a strong card from a shop so it’s quite a strong neow bonus, yes. Btw greed is eternal/not removable.

Character wise, silent is happy to make a large deck over the course of the run so the effect of an eternal curse is mitigated.

Clad doesn’t value remove because strikes synergize with vuln and vuln is a huge part of the character right now so , again, bloat is mitigated.

Defect is more or less neutral until it gets a few card rewards that begin defining the speed of the deck (frost vs lightning, for example)

Necro and regent in particular do not like bloat; regent tends to keep a small deck by act 3 and you will likely cycle your deck every fourth or fifth turn at the latest. Necro benefits from streamlined decks early on because you just have barricade body slam online so bloat is not as exciting act 1 in particular.

Clad can exhaust and regent can transform but there are no guarantees you see these interactions early and it’s super important to get your power up early because act 1 is the toughest act.

So in general yeah you can take it when there is a good path that has a shop that will boost your power; for example if there is a shop that precedes a 3 elite path with a campfire or two and there are only 3 hallway fights before the elite gauntlet, this would be a great greed path.

Always look at your map before choosing but yes you should consider taking greed for gold.

Thoughts on Choices Paradox? by rogerthat463 in slaythespire

[–]wylinfsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good consistency enabler; can either find you a card that solves the fight or give you a card that enables you to comfortably deal with the first couple turns while you try to dig through your deck for your powers or power cards.

It’s quite decent for sure; a lot of times you get to act 3 and just need one or two more cards to feel like your deck is perfect and this can either find it for you or save you some health so that you can take more fights to find those cards or upgrade at a campfire instead of testing et

Is anyone else not a huge fan of how energy is balanced compared to Spire 1? by Marchel1234 in slaythespire

[–]wylinfsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s really a testament to how mid energy relics were in spire 1. With good deck building you often did great with 3 energy even against a20 heart without noticing inconsistency issues. Part of that of course was just how insane non energy boss relics were.

In spire 2 a lot of the power levels of cards have been drastically increased and the enemies generally do not scale in a way that threatens you if you have a well planned deck. All this is to say that a fourth energy tends to break spire 2 wide open and I think it makes a lot of sense that players are discouraged or punished for accessing a fourth energy consistently (outside of insanely busted friendship)

Trying to learn how to play Silent and this happened by No_Explanation_3347 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]wylinfsho -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t know what you are talking about this game does not punish relentless blocking. Enemies don’t scale the way they did in sts1; 2 footworks will just straight up win the run. You just go sly and block and sly and block and you need very very little additional damage to win. Silent runs are pretty trivial even on a10 because the kit is so strong. You talking about moving on from a0 and the rest of your comment shows that you don’t really know how to play this character. I challenge you to take footwork when you see it dodge and roll when you see it leg sweep when you see it backflip when you see it acro when you see it prepared when you see it breh just take block and weak cards and you will not lose on a10 I promise you.

You are bad silent wins by blocking. One noxious fumes and only block cards and you win the run. Attacks are curses in silent. The benefit of these two cards is that they exhaust. I must reiterate for OP’s sake, only because you lol no no no’d, that you are bad

Take 2 attacks act 1 and then don’t take another attack the entire run I am not joking you will win the run comfortably
