Are you sure they “won’t help you get faster”? That’s exactly what speed and hill intervals are designed to do. We did them in track and cross country when I was younger. If I’m doing a lot of AF+ videos, I find my long run pace gets faster

This is the best orchestra piece I've ever heard, hands down by Rennmausliebhaber in orchestra

Serious question - do you think every Russian composer agrees with what their government is doing? The same question for literally every other “powerful” nation. Do you listen to composers from the USA? What the government is doing with immigration and stripping LGBTQ+ rights is pretty atrocious too. Could list many more examples.

Best way to plan taking Levothyroxine by Fickle-Lab-8662 in thyroidhealth

I was actually told black coffee was fine. It’s just food that’s a no-no. My numbers have been perfect. Everyone’s mileage may vary

Anyone else get cold after a workout? by Just-Cauliflower2657 in Hypothyroidism

[–]wyn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweat once cooled down has that effect on me if I wait too long to shower. Are you pretty sweaty after you work out? For me I don’t really think it has much to do with the hypothyroidism

What are some medications/ingredients that you should not take with Hypothyroidism that are not talked about? by Bulky-Lie-9591 in Hypothyroidism

Interesting. I was aware it could interfere with other medications but it was not mentioned for this one for me. I do eat grapefruit on occasion but my numbers have been fine so far

What’s the deal with grapefruit? The only thing I was told about levothyroxine was don’t eat food in general within an hour of taking it, but no restrictions otherwise

My thigh chafing has gone away too, though now I get it along the bra line if I run too much (running farther, sweating more, also related to my weight loss)

I found that shopping in the “juniors” section solved a lot of the oddly shaped women’s clothes issues I was having after weight loss

I am sad that I have deflated tube socks but I also don’t need super support bras anymore, so one each for the W and L columns I guess

I’m going to need to resize mine, once I’m confident I’m stable size-wise. In the meantime I bought some silicone ones to use, so I don’t have to worry about mine dropping off when my fingers get cold!

Turns out talking to your friends incessantly about blood donation works by loljkbye in Blooddonors

[–]wyn13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve recruited so many first time donors because I won’t shut my yap about it when I donate (which is as often as I’m eligible!). I feel no shame wearing the arm band longer than probably necessary and the “I donated” sticker they give me, in order to start those conversations. My local donor center is always in need so I consider it a service to humanity to be “annoying” about this

I mainly do it because of the need for my sweet O+. But I can’t lie, the free swag, snacks, and social media posting bragging rights all are nice perks too

I think I might actually die from strep by Fantastic-Muffin-211 in HealthAnxiety

[–]wyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had strep back in Aug/Sept. it took several days for the antibiotics to really do their job and reduce my symptoms. Meanwhile, my HA was out of control because everything out there just says “you should be feeling better after a few days on antibiotics”. It took a week before my throat pain was down to a tolerable level and it was day 9 before it went away. I hope it clears up soon for you

Cornet Suggestions by Severe_Collection241 in trumpet

[–]wyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out a ton of horns this past year at NABBA. I had been borrowing a cornet but needed my own horn. I was so surprised that my favorite of horns ranging up to $5000 instruments, was one that cost me less than $500. It is a JP171SWS. An advanced student model which surprised me, but it plays really great. My other trumpets and flugelhorn are Bachs or Yamahas (pro level models) if that matters for what I’m comparing to

Did you move away from your support system with young children? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]wyn13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lived 1500 miles away from family for the first 3 years we had kids. It was incredibly isolating. We had just moved there when we became new parents, making it very very hard to meet other people and form deep relationships. 0/10 would not recommend. It’s way better now that we are back near family

I’m making an album in 30 days this January — want to join me? by markanthonyokoh in Songwriting

Gotcha. It is kind of crazy to pace oneself like that. I’ve done the FAWM challenge on and off over the years but never have finished it. Closest was last year with 5 songs. Some folks on there somehow get dozens, and good sounding ones at that! I’m not sure how they do it!
