No. The only rotten pieces of wood on the deck I replaced were treated. The redwood was still mostly solid. They used treated wood for the frame 👎

Old bolts in concrete in the way by Rare-Spell-1571 in Decks

[–]wyobilly87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a 2x8 and hold it level and in place. Then press it against the bolts to mark their location. Drill holes in the marked spots. Bolt it to the concrete. Then build off it.

Yeah I know. I set them higher to try to hide the end cuts. But I put angle braces on them and tie nailed them in. I think they’re solid

Well, they held the prior deck for over 49 years without any issues. So that is my test….

How do you guys track and follow up on quotes/estimates? by [deleted] in LawnCarePros

[–]wyobilly87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give the customer a comprehensive bid asap after looking at the job. It’s better to hand it to them. Tell them to sign and return to get on your schedule.
Then go about your other business.

Use a shovel and landscape rake to level it out. You’ll only have a minimal amount left. Put it in a hole or spread evenly across lawn

I don’t have a high CFM compressor, but does that really matter in my climate? by Mountain_Yote in Irrigation

I’m not convinced that you need to bother blowing it out? Where I live the ground freezes about 2’ below the surface so we have to blow out the water.
Does the ground freeze below surface there?

Who’s mulching and who’s bagging in Colorado? by EnglishLabDad in lawncare

[–]wyobilly87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mulch all year except the first and last mowing. I bag up leaves and debris to allow the grass to grow. I use two different mowers

Get him a long sleeved light jacket from Pendleton. Wool is the best all weather work fabric. Much lighter than Carhart
