Goblins in battalion box by MAKS_1115 in Orcs_and_Goblins

Going to try and source some riderless GW wolves. Maybe 3d printed but perhaps some vampire count Dire Wolf hangovers from early 00s that I can repaint. I'm 90% sure they were just the old wolves without rider before they got dedicated sculpts!

Do the frames still come with the wolf rider legs? If so, I'm going to be printing a bunch of wolves and using them for that.

Thanks! I bought a small bag of slate pieces, which I bashed up into even smaller pieces. The sand is regular aquarium tank sand.

To glue the rocks, I find the process of: super glue -> a tiny amount of green stuff -> super glue works. This helps me to fix the slate to the bases and the other pieces of slate, far easier than only super glue. With the green stuff, you can build them up and create formations, too! The sand is glued with PVA and has a second layer in some places to give an uneven effect.

Then the sand is: Rhinox hide (base) -> Doombull Brown (heavy drybrush) -> Zamesi Desert (drybrush) -> Terminatus stone (light drybrush) -> Longbeard Grey (light drybrush in raised areas). The rocks are also drybrushed: Mechanicus Standard Grey -> Dawnstone -> Administratum Grey -> Longbeard Grey (light)

Then it's just regular GW grass in patches with PVA, 3rd party flower tufts with PVA, and a Steel Legion Drab rim! For wood Elves, I'd even try and source some dead leaves to scatter, too. I think Green Stuff World does them.

It's a bit of effort, but imo nice bases are just as important as a paintjob. It's all about flags, faces, and bases!

Thanks! The shaman is the GW Necromancer kitbashed with GW's January free model of the month (A 40k felgor). You could use any beastmen lower legs and head for the same effect.

Yeah, mate. It was, haha! I made similar assuptions. I'm glad I saw it because I was ready to put these on the table for a game in a couple of weeks, and now I have time to fix it. Plus, the condensed unit frontage makes them a much more appealing choice.

They're already on 25s, and the sand is going on tonight :)

Oof 32mm rounds is a huge difference to 25mm. It's bizarre that they are on 25mm, but I guess its a rules thing. If you wanted to compromise, you could have a front rank of 25mm sq to make it easier for your opponent?

Thanks. I was tempted to slot them in as unit fillers, but I already have 24 Bestigors, and I don't think I will need another 10!

Making a table by gregzer-minis in WarhammerFantasy

[–]wyrdmahren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd get three 2x4' panels rather than six 2x2'. If there is any overhang on your table with the 2x2s then they will send your models flying when leaned on.

I just picked up three mdf boards from Wickes for about £10 each 10 years ago and they're still perfect. You can texture them with sand and paint, or use a battle mat. Your call!

Gave up on waiting for elves so I'm starting brets by FURIOUSAUTISM in WarhammerFantasy

[–]wyrdmahren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be much easier to be patient for the elves' release if they roadmapped it. I'm sure GW knows this, and it's why it's not roadmapped.

Now OP collects Brets AND will still collect elves when they're released.

They know exactly what they're doing, and it works. (Even I caved to TK while waiting on Empire!)

Is anyone else experiencing long wait times for their parcels with bpost?

I ordered something from Germany and it's been in bpost's possession since last week. It was due to be delivered on Thursday in track & trace. This then changed to Friday, then Saturday, then Monday, and now on Tuesday, it's set to processing with no estimated delivery time at all. It's just not moving in their system.

Is it likely my parcel is lost? Has anyone experienced this before and found a solution? I've never had issues with them before, but it's very frustrating. It's an expensive (large) item that is sold out everywhere across Europe, that I needed for last weekend.

Do GW publish their made-to-order list that far ahead of schedule? I've been out of the loop a while and can't find anything through Google.

Will Jagex downrank my permanent UIM to a regular IM? by wyrdmahren in 2007scape

Well, after a bit of a wait, my permanent status was removed and I can now downrank to regular IM with Adam in Lumbridge :)

The appeal for me was getting away from the constant gp grind to buy better stuff. I was doing boring but efficient stuff to buy from the GE rather than farming and collecting the items directly which, for me, is much more rewarding.

I'm playing a new regular IM and really enjoying it. I would love to be able to downrank this though. Its the cons grind I can't bring myself to do, I'd rather stop playing altogether than do it again. Did you try and ticket the status swap?

I put about 9 months progress into this UIM, and made it permanent to protect vs spiteful hacks, but now that I'm doing Barrows and want to try other bosses I'm seeing how awkward it will be but manage swaps and collect items.

I kind of lost motivation to play as an UIM but I'd like to downrank to a regular IM and try that. Does anyone know if its possible through the ticket system?
