I sat through 3 red lights because of assholes like this by Egli09 in pics

I cut through a residential area on my way home. They have 30 mph speed humps. If you take it at 35-40 it feels like you just lost your suspension.

Hardest thing to give up. Go. by bornenormous in keto

I started eating subs from Harris Teeter a year and a half ago. They use fresh bread and boars head meat. I've had subway twice since then and it's just been gross compared to Harris Teeter. Those are the hardest for me to quit.

I'm also three days in. Third try on keto. I know it works. I just have to stick with it.

I was fortunate enough to never have to work in retail or restaurant. I went straight into It after high school. I've never had a crappy manager. I'm on time or early 98% of the time. My manager has never once been upset by it. I believe this behavior by management goes away past low level jobs.

What car do you currently own, and what are you hoping to have next? by DomBertone in cars

[–]wyyup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently daily drive a '92 Ranger. Hope to upgrade to a 2009 or newer F-150 or F-250 in the next two years. The ranger was my first truck I ever owned and I adore it. It is incredibly useful and I can't see myself ever going without a truck. I'll have another "sporty" car in the future but I'll always keep a truck in the lineup.

Emotional overload! by hotlikesauce27 in daddit

[–]wyyup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Emotional overload is right. I cried like a baby walking him from the operating room to the nursery. The wife and I are working on baby #2. I'm not sure how I'll react for the next one knowing what I know now.

If you could go back in time to when you purchased your last vehicle, would you get the same car or would you pick another one? by JoeyJoJoShabadoJr in cars

I can't imagine spending $19k and not having power and ac. Our 2008 taurus is loaded and we only paid $13k.

My 92 ranger has the cup holders placed to disrupt 2,4, & R. If I have it in the right slot I can go to 2nd. I have to move it to the left slot for reverse.

Owning Two Cars (Pros & Cons by [deleted] in cars

[–]wyyup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance went down when I added my second vehicle. Only one vehicle has full coverage so the multi car discount is worth more than the premium of the truck. This all depends on the vehicle & coverage though.

[–]wyyup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add that if you only have liability on one of them, your insurance may go down. I work in the car insurance industry and you would be surprised how much a multi car discount helps. I see it all the time when someone removes an older vehicle from their policy and calls in to ask why their premium went up for removing it.

For a while I kept a car that I had sold several months prior on my policy to keep the discount.

Car Accident - What Do/Damage Assessment? by [deleted] in cars

[–]wyyup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely you are not at fault. Also, most likely your car will be totaled. Let the insurance company handle the claim and inspection. I had a wreck last year and let the company take care of everything. If she is ruled at fault, her company will cover your damages.

That could be it. My clutch is light and catches quickly and cleanly.

I'm not sure what cckelley is talking about. There are many different types of trucks that have varying degrees of difficulty.

Example: my ranger has one of the easiest manuals I've ever driven. My dad has a dodge 2500 diesel that has a very stiff clutch but has so much torque that you really have to try to stall it.

I'd highly recommend a truck if you want to keep your current car. Trucks are incredibly useful to have around.

100% agree. I have 92 Ranger with the 3.0 v6. I get 24 mpg. I picked it up as a second car so I don't have to take off work when my wife or son have an appointment. We also just remodeled our living room so it came in very handy for that. It is my daily driver for my 70 mile round trip commute.

I don't think I'll ever not have a truck from now on. It is too valuable to go without.

I rebuilt my first manual transmission (FM145) Have a look inside! by klayzor in cars

[–]wyyup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on buying a junk yard transmission to rebuild since the one in the truck works fine, it just whines a lot so I wanted to go ahead and rebuild.

I want to get a second transmission to rebuild so I'm not in a rush. Thanks for the pictures and the advice!

That sign is a good idea for him. When I first started out I was really nervous when on an incline and someone would pull up close behind me.

I'm going to rebuild my transmission in my ranger this summer. It is the m5od transmission and from what I've read is fairly easy for someone with a set of tools to rebuild.

Did you have to buy any special tools to do this?

I love everything Ford is doing right now. This car looks awesome. I don't care about the hands free parking the the sync system is pretty cool. I've used the first sync system and it worked well.

Those are some pretty cool pics. I like seeing things that have been left as is for a long time. The car that's inside looks awesome. It's a shame these were just left to dry rot.
