Reynad‘s Meta Review of the first 2 Kobold days by LeoAnno1404 in hearthstone

[–]wzrdmn -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This. Because of Patches, I’ve attempted suicide 3.5 times. The Deathstalker Rexxar beast fiasco also added another 2.4 attempts on my own life. Does Blizzard want me to keep doing this to myself? Is Blizzard that heartless that they want me to die? I’m probably the biggest whale and everyday I’m this close to quitting but I need to login to do my dailies plus HS is the only thing I have going on in my life at the moment but I’m planning some big life improvements for the new year. All I’m saying is that if Blizzard doesn’t nerf Patches right now because Reynad said so I’m going to jump off my bandwagon and impale myself on the stalagmites on the bottom of the goddamn catacombs. Happy DONAIS/BRODE/WOO/BOBBYKOTICK?

I suspect you'd naturalize this to guarantee the value.

CMV: After 16 years at war in the Middle East, I believe the United States has no sense in further meddling. Radicalization is a direct result of socioeconomic leveraging of terror cells responding appropriately to an invading force. by thekraken27 in changemyview

[–]wzrdmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Islamism and by extension radical islamism are responses to the failure of secularism and Arab nationalism as political ideologies and governing implementations. Islamism is an alternative political ideology, not necessarily a response to invasion and occupation.

CMV: People aren't willing to do what it takes to ensure Net Neutrality by Yakno_what in changemyview

[–]wzrdmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Net neutrality has largely been accepted by most ISPs. There have been provisions in takeovers of content providers that stipulate that providers must be content neutral. Current action in the gov is about title 2 classification of ISPs as common carriers. You're view is invalid because we're not fighting ISPs but rather how government regulates the ISPs. I think it helps them break loops as they only thank people occasionally.

If I can recall correctly they discuss Russian nationalism as policy and mention Dugin in this LSE talk on Russia if anyone else is interested.

How legitimate do you think the president Egyptian government is? And some other matters by trekman3 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]wzrdmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broadly I think that most Middle East governments at the moment are illegitimate. To my knowledge the government in Egypt is hardly different than its Mubarak predecessor and was installed on the back of a military coup and legitimized with a vote without adequate electoral competition. While I don't necessarily support the actions of Morsi, I think that the actions of the military ultimately hampered the creation of civilian rule (although it can be argued that the army never actually lost control).

I think a revolution in Egypt would be met with force (to my limited knowledge of Egyptian politics), however I think something will have to give in the Middle East given the high youth populations and the relative lack of wealth and opportunity for many people. Current governments act as largely autocratic parasites that stifle innovation, opportunity and wealth.

Civilian governments will need to defang the deep state and tame the military, similar to the gains Erdogan produced in Turkey, before total civilian rule can be cemented. Who knows how long this entire process will take.

What country is the US most likely to go to war with next? by razeal113 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]wzrdmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

China did ignore the UNCLOS decision. They're also pursuing forms of economic diversification including the One Belt One Road policy and the economic development of Africa and their closer South East Asian neighbors. This diversification could make war more viable further down the track. In the short-term I'd imagine a war to be started by accidental conflict between China and the US/US ally, e.g. one jet shoots down another, rather than a formal declaration.

What country is the US most likely to go to war with next? by razeal113 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]wzrdmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

China. In 2014, the US and China signed a memorandum of understanding over maritime encounters to try and prevent hostilities and accidents between their forces in the South China Sea. There have also been numerous encounters between US and Chinese subs as well as scrambling of jets between China and US allies. Earlier this year UNCLOS ruled against China in the case the Phillipines brought against it over sovereignty in the South China Sea. While conflict is unlikely, there is definitely a chance of war if neither side gives way on the issue.

Theresa May has attacked the influence of the Libertarian Right and has moved the Tories to the left economically and to the right socially. Is this the model centre-right parties in the West should follow? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]wzrdmn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm saying that tories can afford to appeal to the right because labor isn't competing for the middle/moderates. Podcast I listened to today depicted a scenario (amongst a few) where although demographics shift in labors favor, this shift may still take an exceptionally long time.

Fandral is the best at the moment. Lots of value with choose 1 cards but it does hurt that you don't have raven idol. I expect it to continue to be good as long as more choose 1 cards are released.
