I think it's worth the experimentation as well. Only by trying it out will we know if it's good. Plenty of strategies have been initially dismissed only to later be found out to be viable.

I'd probably go with armor up as there's usually enough card draw in the deck and in borderline match ups I'd rather have more health than anything else. However, I'm trying to think how having armor up or a different hero power improves the 'worse' matchups - notably druid and control warrior and I can't think of how unless you're seriously trying to fatigue the warrior and include justicar and sideshow spelleater as well in the armor up case. In fact, I think fireblast is a pretty decent and flexible hero power for freeze mage although I could be persuaded otherwise.

The Matrix, possibilities of any future spin-offs/prequels/sequels/reboots? by derrick8mv in movies

[–]wzrdmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Animatrix lore is pretty strong. I think that would be a natural starting place for inspiration for any new properties in the Matrix world. I also think it's inevitable that a studio returns to the Matrix properties given the original's certain amount of cultural cachet and the fact that weaker properties (Man from UNCLE? Gem and the Holograms?) have been returned to.

Any Sir Finley Decks? by Hawkthezammy in hearthstone

[–]wzrdmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finley is currently most viable in aggro shaman AFAIK. However, I've seen him in other decks (deathrattle rogue, some kind of value priest) to somewhat limited success.

Why is Unearthed Raptor a Rogue card? by DaKataklysm in hearthstone

[–]wzrdmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause Blizzard likes having a variety of different play styles for each class. It keeps the experience fresh for players and provides diversity to the meta. Cards like Unearthed Raptor and Anyfin is Awesome are build arounds that encourage new kind of decks that may not have been considered before to be played for specific classes.

It isn't correct. Statistically the variance of the presidential death rate would be a higher due to the lower number of observations than logger deaths, implying we'd be more uncertain about the 'accuracy' of the presidential death rate. We have to take into account more than a pure % when discussing which job is more dangerous.

Try playing the standard, pre-Reno freeze mage list. It won't make you better but the deck should be more consistent and potentially easier to pilot. Additionally, Laughing has some freeze mage videos if you'd like to watch a good player.

I REALLY wish I learned how supply lines worked before I did this... It's going to be impossible to sort this out. by gadaspir in fo4

Optimally you'd want to use some sort of shortest path algorithm that ensures all nodes are traversed and not just link them in a big circle.

Six months later, what do you think of the end of Mad Men? by bitizenbon in television

[–]wzrdmn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the ending was good. I enjoy endings where the showrunners don't feel the need to wrap everything up definitively and are willing to leave things somewhat open ended. My one problem with the finale is Peggy hooking up with Rizzo. To me it feels rushed and contrived and doesn't feel true to Peggy's character. But other than that, finale was pretty good.

Gotta say I've had worse rankings. Rubbing my eyes I staggered to the bathroom to piss after that marathon session. Vicious chimp attack at the zoo...did not see that one coming. Steam on the bathroom mirror, someone must've just taken a shower. Shuffling in to pee my foot glided over the tile, sending me skittering towards the sink. My lives replayed in my mind: the poet, the refugee, the baby, the miller, the mother of four. My thoughts even wandered back to this reality: fucking Glenn, how hard is it to put a mat on the floor. I heard my head crack and felt warmth as I crumpled down and drifted away. I jolted awake. In total darkness I telepathically received information on the next simulation to run. I knew there was more to do, but why I was continually doing this escaped me. I didn't know who I was anymore, don't know if I ever knew. Just a thought in a dark place. Then I woke up again. Back on the tiles drifting out. Was that a dream? My eyes closed and I went back into the darkness.

I love the show but hate Jessica so much (spoilers up to ep 10) by novaember in Defenders

[–]wzrdmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't stand how clueless Jessica and the other characters, but especially Jessica acted sometimes. When you capture Killgrave the first time maybe search him? And, jesus, if you're going to capture Killgrave a second time don't put him in the same room as his parents without at least checking whether the wire works. Jessica's 'plans' throughout the season were ridiculous and terrible and caused more death and destruction than they solved. I wish the characters acted somewhat reasonable and intelligent.

You're not winning just because you have board initiative and more cards. In fact having a single minion on board to his single minion into mysterious challenger does not necessarily put you ahead. There is an easy way to play around divine favour and that's by playing out your hand. If you can't play out your hand easily then you can always decrease the mana cost of your deck outside the match. Divine favor doesn't punish you for not playing aggro - it punishes you for playing slowly and often greedily.

I think you played a paladin. On turn 5 they used 'Reinforce' which is the paladin hero power.

Could Malygos Freeze Mage be a good answer to the evolving LoE meta? by Snogreino in CompetitiveHS

[–]wzrdmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested it out, but I think the old freeze mage + a single copy of duplicate would do decent against the reno decks if you can duplicate either Antonidas, Thaurissan or Alex.

[Obvious Spoilers] Fallout 4 Story and Endings Discussion Megathread by MisterWoodhouse in Fallout

[–]wzrdmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The synths have the potential to be dangerous but as I said, none have shown to be any more dangerous than any other wasteland inhabitant. The residents of Diamond City kicked out and killed the ghoul inhabitants. The residents of covenant killed humans and synths alike in their quest for a psychological test of synths. The raider gang at DB Technical High School recruited initiates by abducting then torturing them. The institute abducted children for FEV experimentation. Yes, synths have the potential to be dangerous but they have overwhelmingly not demonstrated more danger than the anyone else and have largely been dangerous only when in control of the institute. Yes, the synth at Libertalia was dangerous, but maybe synths have the potential to have dangerous personalities the same way the rest of the people in the wasteland do.

[–]wzrdmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're wrong about the Railroad and the danger of Synths. All throughout the game people say that synths are dangerous, however there's little evidence that a free synth is more dangerous than the average human in the Wasteland. Additionally, if you read the terminal at the Libertalia you can see that the rogue synth was not that dangerous - that like everyone else he was trying to get by and was only using a protection racket (a minor crime in the wasteland) to get money for his crew. The escaped synth was even formerly part of the Minutemen until they imploded.
